  1. Thanks for the advices! So the car can dump water by itself if there is air in the system?
  2. I had a radiator leak and changed the radiator on my MY97 Boxster. Now when I started the car and let it run for a few minutes and then turned it off I could see that water was coming from the engine somewhere around the passengers side rear tire. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Also, I accidentally put too much water in the system when I refilled the system. Could this have caused the problem?
  3. Has anyone used any aftermarket side skirts on a 996 C4S? If so, please upload photos. I´m in the process of getting a pair for my car.
  4. I like the techno wheels and thought about upgrading the wheels on my car to the Techno in black with a polished outer edge. When searching on Ebay I can only find 20" which I think can be a bit too much for my 996 C4S. Anyone who knows for sure?
  5. What are you going to do to the springs - cut them, rebend then and then adjust their length? Not likely. It is best to buy springs that are already made ("tuned") to the specs of your car. Remember this as you are taking a high speed turn at 100 plus MPH. Porsche tunes their suspensions for a reason - to make the cars fast and to try to keep you alive. Sorry for not being accurate in my question. What I meant was that if you could buy other springs like H&R to fit the 997 strut? Or maybe its better/more convenient to just buy H&R for my stock C4S struts...
  6. Is it possible to change the springs so they fit C4S? What springs would be best to choose?
  7. It sure looks nice! One question though, why does not a original wing from a Turbo fit the C4S?
  8. I have been thinking of putting a spoiler on my C4S but I´m afraid that it will look too much of a Turbo "look alike". Does anyone here have any experince in this? Maybe some pictures? Found this one on ebay; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSCHE-996-CARRERA-AERO-REAR-SPOILER-KIT-C4S-ONLY_W0QQitemZ170465206967QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item27b084a2b7
  9. Thanks for the help! Does anyone have experience in converting to GT3 headers? Is it possible with or without modification?
  10. I need to replace a radiator on my MY97 Boxster but I cannot seem to find those round rubber mounts that will help the radiator to fit onto the radiator support. On Pelicanparts website I only find rubber mounts for the center radiator but will those work for the side ones as well?
  11. Just noticed that my mufflers has GEMBALLA stamped on them but I´m unsure about the rest of the exhaust. Can somebody tell? Sorry about the poor pic quality...
  12. Thanks for the pictures! It makes sense. I have to check my wheels to see what I have. I meant flat black, or matte black. They are powder coated from factory. Think that was an option when the car was new(Tequipment?).
  13. Just having my guys replace the RMS. This is what it looks like. The clutch is far gone as well so I´ll change that one as well.
  14. I just had a friend of mine trying to convince me on that the turbo wheels on my C4S are not the same as the ones that would come stock on a 996 turbo. So my question is; are the wheels on a 996 Turbo really different(lighter)than the ones on my C4S? I have the flat black hollow spoke C4S wheels.
  15. Just found out that my car is leaking oil when I had it on the lift. Does anyone has any experince? Is it serious? How much would it cost to fix? Here´s a picture. It seems like its the seal between the gearbox and the engine. Is that the main seal?
  16. I'm planning on replacing my non electrical seats with electrical seats from another car. Will this mean a lot of work and are the cables already there or do I have to deal with them as well?
  17. I have seen a lot of 996 to 997 conversions out there but never seen anything done to the interior? I have a Boxster 986 that I´m fiddeling a bit with have been playing with the idea of putting a 997 dash board in it. Is this possible or just not worth the hassle?
  18. Hiya! Me and my wife was driving some serious miles with our 02 C4S this holiday. After about 30 hours from New York we reached Texas and by then started to notice some weird noises when making turns and shifting gears. We could´nt do anything else but driving since no mechanics could be found due to the holiday. When we finally came home I left the car at my mechanics and he found out that the front drive shafts needed to be replaces since the joints were bad. The strange noise appearing when taking corners was gone but the clunking sound, which seemed to come from the right front wheel was still there. This appeared mainly when changing gears or when letting go off the gas pedal when driving at any speed. The noise seemed to get worse when car was driven for a while. Anyone having ideas?
  19. Thanks both of you for your comments. I´ll check both things up. Pretty sure its a minor thing... or I hope it is! B)
  20. Hey all! I took my C4S for a spin yesterday and all of a sudden the road just opened up and traffic was no longer an issue. But all of a sudden my happiness ended when I heard a "burring" sound coming from, what I believe, the front differential. This sound only appeared when I hit 78 - 80mph. Can my car due for a oil change in the front diff? My car has done 30540 miles. Another thing I discovered is that there is a clunking sound from the front right tire when I change gear. This might have to do with it as well... I will have it checked up by a mechanic but I just wanted to check if this might be a common issue for this model. So if anyone might know what its all about, please post a comment;)
  21. Try 0073 or 0071 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Did´nt work... Its so weird since someone did write "radio code 5278" in the Porsche Maintenance book but that one did´nt seem to work either... Well, I´ll guess I have to take it to the dealership. Thank you so much for your help though!!
