  2. Is there anyone that can help me reset my airbag light on my 97 Boxster. Im in Sussex County NJ. Does anyone know if by disconnecting the battery will it reset the airbag light. Is it something stored in the computer or cluster that activates the light? Thank you in advance for your consideration!

  4. Send Peter a PM by clicking on his name. He has a shop and has lots of experience in replacing Boxster tops. Regards, Maurice. I spoke with Peter. He is very knowledgable and willing to do the repair. I have to go over my finances before I can do it though. When I get it done I will post some pics. Thank you for your advice! This forum is great!
  5. I only use GAHH. I have changed many plastic windows in N.J. Only 1 has cracked,he put top down in too cold weather. He then upgraded to a glass GAHH top :) Hello, I need a new plastic window and noticed you have replaced many of them. Did you do it yourself or did someone else do it for you? I am also in NJ and willing to hire you or someone you recommened. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem is solved? Your prescription is always my first attack. The contact on the fuse was simply corroded. Isn't necessarily visible, and isn't rare. You can have the same problem with any exposed; metal to metal connections, grounds, wiring harness plugs, relays, etc. The fix is the same You might consider taking the fuse out again and scuffing the 2 leads with steel wool or something. Then stuff it in and pull it out a couple of times. Must have been literally hang by a thread. Regards, PK Hello, I am having a problem with my cluster also. Which fuse had corrosion was it B1 or a different one? Thank you for your help. Nick
  7. Try 6856 or 6854 If you have not already read this FAQ - please do so... Lost Radio Code - FAQ, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST Those two codes # did not work, if I can't get it to work then I'll just replace it. Will the radio just start working once the codes have been entered. The car is a 1999 Boxster 2.5 US, LHD 5spd Silver with dark blue interior, not sure if that helps. THANKS Hello, You have to enter the code then press the tune up button. Also, If Lorens code doesnt work you can also call a Porsche dealership with the vin number to the car and the serial number of the radio they will give you the correct code free of charge over the phone. Hope this helps!
  8. Thank you I m going to check those fuses today and I will keep you updated. I appreciate all of your help. I checked the fuses and all are good. Time to start following the wires. Thank you for your help.
  9. Thank you I m going to check those fuses today and I will keep you updated. I appreciate all of your help.
  10. Thank you I will try to follow the wires back and see if any are burned or melted. I will also check the fuses and bulbs. I was told by the previous owner that the cause of the fry was he was having a problem holding a charge on his battery so he brought it to a mechanic. The mechanic hooked some kind of computer up to the car wrong (he said a pin was crossed) and it burned out everything. I dont know for sure if this is the cause or if it is just coincidence that a mechanic was diagnosing it when it decided to burn out. Thank you for all of your input. If there is any other info you or anyone else can give please do I appreciate it!
  11. Hello, I am hoping somebody has some advice for me. I have a 1997 Boxster and the instrument cluster doesnt work I have no speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip, etc. The only thing that seems to work is the gas guage and the warning lights come on and some stay on. My headlights dont work properly either I have no high beam and the low beam is very dim. Also, my remote key does not unlock the doors. Does any one know if there is a headlight control in the cluster and if the cluster can cause the remote to not work? I was told that all of these problems were because the cluster was bad. Is there any way to test my cluster and/or reset it? Thank you in advance for your help! Nick Some background: I just bought the car and I was told by the previous owner the computer was shorted out and a new computer was installed. He also told me when the computer shorted it also shorted the instrument cluster and Convertible Module. Just a thought: does this cluster have to be programmed to the new computer maybe? Also does any one know where I can get a new convertable module for a reasonable price?
