  1. I had a heck of a time trying to removing the locking collar. I ended up using one of those mini clamps from home depot. It did the trick. The one below is the large version. They make a really small version that's perfect. Maybe I'm just too weak. I make myself feel better by thinking it was the outside temp in the 90s.
  2. Hi Loren, I finally got an answer. You were correct, there is only one drain plug. It is pretty much identical to the base 911. I went to 3 different dealers before one finally had a 2010 on the lift. The first dealer I visited had a service mechanic tell me that the picture I had was not a 911 Turbo. Even after I told him it was my 911. Thanks again for your help!
  3. Hi, Thank you for the info. I haven't started yet. I was afraid to do anything until I got some input from you. I agree, it appears that there are no other possible locations for the oil drain. I think I'm going to call a few more dealers to see if there is definitely only one oil drain plug and I'm not missing something. Let me know if you speak to anyone in your area that knows. The Porsche dealers around here (NY, Long Island) are terrible. Thanks again for your help!
  4. I'm trying to change the oil on my 2010 911TT and I was told by the dealer that there are 2 oil drain plugs. Using the pictures below, I located what looks like 3 drain plugs. Not all for the oil. #1 appear to be the oil pan drain plug. Does anyone know where the second drain plug is located. The service mechanic at Porsche is very tight lipped and was not clear on the locations. There lack of expertise with the 2010 911 scares me. Please forgive me for my lack of experience with the Porsche. I'm only familiar with the Corvettes. Thank you again for your help guys!
  5. I'm in the NY, Long Island area. Thank you for your help!
  6. I have the new 2010 911 Turbo and would like to change the oil myself. I do not trust the service centers. I was told by the local Porsche dealer that after you change the oil there is no way to clear the "service oil" message through the dash board computer. They said I would have to bring in the car and the oil reset was done through the computer diagnostic port. They want to charge me $100 in labor for just the reset. Is this true or are they just looking to make more money on the complete oil service? I can't find anything in the book and most of the dealerships are not very knowledgeable about the 2010 911TT. Thanks for your help guys, Phil
  7. The book is crazy. It reads something like 2K miles. I've always given my cars between 500-900 miles before really beating on them. I'm not sure if it makes any difference. I just focus on varying the revs. I go up to 3-4.5K and back down and back up (rinse and repeat : ). I never stay at any steady speed for an extended period of time. It helps to utilize the paddles because you have full control. I would not use the launch control until at least 500 miles. I'm going to play it really safe with this car, because of my large investment, and wait until 1K. I tried Sports Plus once at about 25mph and holly sh&*t the revs jumped to over 4K and the car threw me back in my seat. It's really tough to find a place on long island to safely use this car, so for me I have no issue waiting a few extra miles. One thing is for sure. This car can more and I believe every bit of the 2.9 sec 0-60 and 11.01 sec 1/4 mile times (on YouTube). I'm still shocked that it is faster than my Z06. Good Luck with your 911!! Let me know how you make out with Launch Control!
  8. Well I didn't see any picts posted so here's my new 2010 911 Turbo w/PDK and Sports Chrono. This car ROCKS! Worlds above anything in the price/performance/fit & Finish range. It pulls harder than my '08 Z06 (SOLD it).
