  1. they sell just the reflector that can be taped onto the back of a C2. search the internet for this! Jason
  2. i don't think the oem gt2 wing fits the C4S. you have to get the one from www.mashaw.com, email the guy, he has one for the C4s. I'm getting it soon, i'll post pics once it's installed.
  3. did the car die? or was it a noise? the car would stall out by it self a few times and a few times it was just too rough of an idle for me to leave it running.. like the entire car would vibration hard and the check engine light would flash... i got the car back today. n/c since everything was under warranty.. also got an oil change, brake flushing, and my new carbon fiber steering wheel mounted... total on mastercard, 730 - 10% coupon service coupon = 650?
  4. hey, i had my car towed to the dealer on sunday and they found the cam actuator bad? they said it was a pretty big job to change but it was under warranty. can anybody tell me how a cam actuator goes bad? my car had around 10,300 miles on it. jason
  5. hey guys! bad news. i was in a really bad mood tonight and i think i broke something in my transmission... i was at a light and when i saw it turn green, i decided a little gas will cheer me up... so i gunned it.. sadly, my mind must not have been paying attention since i must have let out the clutch before shifting completely into 2nd gear.... some of you knows what horriffic sound i hear next... clik lcikc lickkkciclicic.... uh... so tell me, did i break something???!?!?!? i drove home without any problems and 2nd gear still works.. but i want to know the long term effects of this and if i need to get anything checked out... thanks for the advise! regards, jason
  6. i must drive pretty "gas wastingly" since i only get 14mph in nyc and 23mph driving on the highway.
  7. thanks for all the help guys!! i was worried that it was a problem with my driving style for a while.. hehe. thanks!
  8. hey guys! my 04 c4s is doing very well. however, it has around 8k miles now and i just noticed extreme tire wear, espeically for the rear tires. i think i have maybe 1/3 of an inch remaining on the rear and about 1/2 of an inch remaining on the fronts. is this normal tire wear? i know the oem tires are pretty soft compound. is it because i am driving using the summer tires through the winter? i was thinking about going with 19" techart rims, but any recommendations on tires that will last a little longer? i think i'm not too aggressive of a driver, but i guess i am? hehe, anyways, anybody else experience this? how many miles are you guys getting with your tires? i think the worse tire wear i ever had as on potenza s-03s on my S55 that lasted me maybe 15k miles, but i think the rear on the porsche will only last me a few thousand more... jason
  9. i have a 996 C4S. hm.. i'm probably too much of a newbie. does that translate into the rims will fit or not fit? hehe. thanks!
  10. hey everybody! will these fit my 04 C4S? front 19x8.5 ET 40 rear 19x11 ET 25. The person says this offset will fit a 996 turbo and any 996 wide body. will these fit? i just want to make sure since i don't want to purchase rims that do not fit my car. many thanks! jason
  11. o What are the long term effects on the lens, mirror and headlamp housing? there should be no long term effect on the lens, mirror, and headlamp housing since OEM is designed to handle the HID heat. Any personal experiences? HIDs use 35 Watt bulbs, supposedly produce less heat but output more light in the visible range. o What are the effects on the beam pattern? a GOOD set should produce the same beam pattern, even though the bulb is longer, the "light source" should be in the same location as normal halogen bulbs. The HID bulbs are longer and therefore may mess up the beam pattern. What are your experienes? from my experience with HID retrofit kits, since the entire headlamp pops out with a porsche, I'm not sure where you would mount your ballast. people usually mounts the ballast somewhere inside the engine compartment near the headlamp and OEM hid units mount the ballast inside the headlamp.
  12. Hey! Good news, I got my set of winter tires today. 265 for the rear and 235 for the fronts. i'm looking for some 18*8 wheels and 18*10wheels for the C4S. I believe the offsets will be ET50 & ET47. any recommendations on wheels? thanks! Jason
  13. Hey guys! does anybody have experience with the replica TechArt body kits on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSCHE-911...sspagenameZWDVW For the price, it's a steal, but what do you guys think? is it worth it?
  14. a little offtopic but regarding clutch wear factor, between what range of rpms should i be at for normal driving? and how many rpms do you guys launch at (assuming at a normal red-light, not trying to race the guy next to you)? i have a japanese friend who tells me he usually cruises around 3-4k rpms in his japanese little import, which appears to me kindof high.. and he also says he lauches at around 3-4k rpms too... my point of view was always launch at the lowest possible rpm without bogging down the engine to minimize engine wear. around 800-1.3krpms? and i usually cruise around 40mph in 4th gear, i think around 2k rpms? anybody? these questions are probably really newbie-ish, but sadly i'm still figuring out how to drive a manual car! thanks! -jason
