  1. Yes, that part from my 2000 C2 Coupe without a wing does not fit, it's too large. Just knowing it was called a buffer, I found it. It's part#99651298700. Thanks for all of the help!
  2. I'm just looking to find out what that part is called and a part number. I'm not trying to ask if it would fit. That way I can look into it myself. The wing is a MA Shaw GT3 wing and I've already spoken with him. He advised the Porsche part fits but he does not sell that part.
  3. This is not a Porsche factory wing, so the year is probably not applicable (my car is a 2000). I was told that this part is pretty much the same thru the GT3 series. I have attached a pic of the hole in my wing the part belongs in. The part from my stock 2000 C2 coupe decklid is too large and will not screw into the hole of this wing.
  4. I'm looking to identify the item the arrow is pointing to in my picture. It's the black, rubber stop for a GT3 wing. I'm trying to find a picture of this item removed so I can compare it to my aftermarket GT3 wing which is missing this part. I also need the name and part number so I can order two of them. Thanks!
  5. Perfect, exactly what I was hoping! Thanks for the quick reply, Neil
  6. The MAF is bad in my 2000 996 C2 and I have ordered a new one which will arrive on Tuesday. When I disconnect the MAF, the car runs close, if not normal. My book by Wayne Dempsey states that you can drive short distances (30 miles or so) with the MAF disconnected. My Porsche is my daily driver and I'm wondering about driving it to work on Monday and Tuesday (about 10 miles one way/each day). Would I be doing any damage if I pamper the car and just get to and from work or should I borrow a car? Thanks for any advice as I'm not sure what I should do with this one.
  7. Would the sunvisors for a 2003 Boxster S work in a 2000 Carrera C2?
  8. I don't understand what you mean by the other pins already jumpered "per spec".
  9. I have searched for this question, but unfortunately, this is one of those issues in which there has been quite a few different answers out there. I have a 2000 Porsche C2 which currently has no wing. I have recently purchased what I believe is a Shaw GT3 type wing which does not have a brake light in it. My question is, can I get by with doing the jumper between pins 2 and 5 (that has been discussed) in the current wiring harness to disable the wing warning I will get on my dash? If not, is Part# 996.612.070.51 the correct fixed wing wiring harness I would need for my setup? My second question is if I install the wing without either of these things done yet, will I do any harm to my car other than having a warning light on the dash? I called my local Porsche dealer and they did not seem up to speed on this. They advised me that the only thing I may have to do is stop by and they may have to reprogram my car's computer to understand it has a fixed wing now. It just seems from everything I've read that a 2000 996 will need more than that. The wing I purchased was used and does not include a wiring harness. I'm just trying to get everything together so I can install correctly right away. Thanks for any help!
  10. Mine just shows the delivery pushed to 2/20-2/24. If it's anything else, I'm cancelling my order.
  11. I recreated the window sticker for my 2000 996 and I'm down to simply printing it. Does anyone have their window sticker (or any Porsche window sticker) that could simply measure how big it is? I just want to have it printed in the correct dimensions. Thanks in advance!
  12. I have always used Euroquipe for my 911. They are in St. Charles, which may be too far away for you however.
  13. No luck thru Loren unfortunately. His suggestion was if someone on this board might have a copy of their window sticker on their 2000 Porsche C2, they might scan it for me. I guess I'm dead in the water at that point.
  14. I'll give it a try. I can only imagine how many emails he must get and hated to bog him down with this. Thanks, Neil
  15. Someone sent me the file to create a window sticker and I'm creating my own window sticker for my car (It's snowing and I'm bored!). Does anyone know the original base price for a 2000 Porsche C2? I have my VIN decoded and I'm ready to start plugging away but I can't seem to find the price anywhere. If there is a site that may have that and option prices, I would appreciate any info on it. Thanks a ton!
  16. I ordered one of these. Hopefully it will work! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260651897792&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT
  17. I was wondering if anyone has ever done the "Gundo Hack" to their exhaust and has some info. It seems fairly easy to do and I've read plenty of positive feedback on it. My question would be about possible problems with emissions testing. In Illinois we are tested farily often and my concern would be that this would make the car fail the test. Any input? Thanks! I have a stock 2000 C2 and I'm only looking to deepen the exhaust sound. Here is a link to an explanation of what it entails: http://www.renntrack...Hack-GUNDO-HACK
  18. Do either of these sites have the mats with the Porsche crest logo on them? I didn't see it and I've been looking for black mats with that logo. Thanks!
  19. I purchased by 2000 C2 about 3 weeks ago. It's my daily driver, including Chicago's winters. I found another set of OEM 17" wheels with snow tires in great shape on Craigslist for $400. I do a search everyday on CL for "PORSCHE" and there is always someone selling a set of wheels. I went with 17" based on the vast majority's recommendation and to this point, I've had no problems in the snow. Just my .02 from a fellow newbie!! From what I read, I believe your summer tires will not be effective anywhere below 45 degrees (I believe, again, I'm new ;) ).
