  1. . The more I think about what you saying. You might be right. I did disconnect the battery when I put the cai on. Can't wait to get home & put gas in.
  2. Unpluged MAF sensor & still no start. Cranked over for a while & started to smell gas. No what!
  3. It is a C4. And I do put small amounts of fuel in. I also hear fuel pump running when I turn the key on.
  4. I did install a cold air intake about a month ago. Could it be mass air flow sensor?
  5. Not sure when filter was changed. I had the car for over 3 years & never changed it. But it ran fine up that point.
  6. I had little less then 1/4 tank of gas. I down shifted from 4 to 3rd gear & it stalled. Try to start & stalls after running for second. 1 hour later try to start & same thing. Runs for second & shuts down. I thought maybe a vapor lock because gas was kind of low. I did add a little gas from my Lawnmower can. Any ideals?
  7. There is a lot of Porsche books out there. What is the best book for info on performance upgrades on the 996?
  8. Thanks Richard for the pic, But is that the drivers side? That would depend on whether you have a LHD car or RHD car. Being in the UK Richard's car is RHD - so his drivers side is the right side. In the US we get LHD so the drivers side is the left side. The engine number is on the left side of the car on both LHD and RHD Thanks Loren, I found it. But could you tell what this number means? M96/0268X01423 Im trying to see if my motor was ever changed
  9. Can someone show me a pic where the 996 engine date code location is. Did a search cant seem to fine any. Thanks Mike
  10. +1, Or could be the fuel pump. I had a VW that did that and it turned out to be fuel pump.
  11. With a K&N filter setup. Will a 996 whine louder then normal? Thanks
  12. How hard is it to change cam cover gasket? And how much would a shop charge to change? Thanks
  13. Is it ok to use sta-bil in the gas of my 99 porsche?
  14. Forgot to ask you. Where is the paint code located on the car? Thanks Mike
  15. 1999 yellow 911 porsche what is the paint code or color name? And where can I get touch up paint? Thanks Mike
