  1. what else can we use can we use Mobie 1 ATF it says it meets the standard of MERCON V,DEXRON II,III dont know what it means...but is this tranny oil any good? please remember to do a http://www.blackstone-labs.com/ so we have some real-life data. :clapping:
  2. 90,000 Mile... guys dont beleive that the transmission as far as I know is the same as the BMW E46 trans.. use the same oil too.... and BMW says LIFE time ..no need to change ever.... for the E46 M3 also... i have own both 330ci and M3 with SMGII tranny... and they say u do not need to change the fluid until 100K KM... guess what at 60K KM when i first change my 330ci's tranny fluid.. u can tell the fluid is dirty not as smooth ...and their was a huge change after i change the fluid ..much much more smoother shift so since then i cahnge my M3 tranny fluid at 30K KM... and i think that is a good interval... 40K might be good for US driving condition which is pretty similar to canada i assume.... but for 996... the way most of P owner drive their car... 40K km u definity need to change your tranny fluid... and look at it ..u will know.. what factory say is BS.... thx, looks like i have a long way to go before 90K! :thumbup:
  3. thanks man wow u r good that is exactly what my mechnic told me.. he say he will start at the valve check for the vacume hose... worth situation is i have to change the sensor and harness... anyone know how much those parts will run me... as for the 2 code....if i am lucky enough cleaning hte MAF will do it.. if not i will have to check if there is some lose hose or somewhere leaking.. thanks guys
  4. the code i got was 37... i am not in the US.. the car is German spec that is why my tranmission code is differerent....but what it says was tranmission unit temperture sensor fault also got 2 more code while scanning for code P1128 and P1130.... what are those? thanks guys
  5. guys what does those 2 code mean ? what kind of fix do i need.. seems like something to do with the MAF??
  6. guys what kind of oil do we need for our TIP since our TIP is ZF exactly the same as what is use in BMW can we use the same oil esso ATF LT71141? i saw the DIY forum... but it doesnt say waht exactly spec of oil we need.., pleae help thanks
  7. to give more info usually it happen after i take the car out for a nice little run .., drive it in Manaul mode for a while.. then it will start to flash at 4th gear.... i will pop it back into D... then both D and 4 will flash?? weired..... no one with TIP ever had this issue??
  8. guys i have a 01 C4 cab.. wondering is it possible to get the glass rear window from the 03 cab and use it on the 01.. i knwo its possible on teh boxsters but anyone with expereince or info on 996?? what does the convertible top needs to be change also?
  9. guys is it possible to fit 996 turbo spoiler on to a C4 and have to spoiler raise up/down funtion to work properly if factory doenst fit.. is there after market parts that makes the exact same looking spoiler .with the up/down function .. i do not want it to be fix
  10. guys anyone had this problem before... my is a 2001 C4.. recently it happen couple times . gear is switching normally when it get to 4th gear the light beside 4 start to flash instead of just light up and stay there.. it flash and flash .. doenst seem to want to swtich to 5th gear like it normally would... the flash might go away after I decrese speed then it will work normally again has this happen to anyone ? what can be wrong ..
  11. guys help here i am getting this really light noise from under the car when the car is in motion .. its a light creaking noise... sounds like a door without proper lubrication ..but much lighter and higher in pitch .. not as heavy .... what can this be.. control or or the sway bar end link? i did get my end link change for the rear at 36K km ... but i havent change the front... i have a 2001 C4 cab.... but i did notice the rear end link is much tigher .and if u try to twist it the room it gives is alot less then the front.. is this normal.. is the front suppose to be more loose and gives more room for twist and turn? does the end link make this noise at all?.. or is it something else? any thought and info would be awsome.. thanks
