  1. oh, it's a '98 boxster with 68000 miles. pleeeease help me
  2. I was on the freeway the other day and I smelled something BURNING. I quickly got off the freeway to check it out. As I was on the bottom of the offramp, i tried to downshift to 3rd, only to grind it and then suddenly lock everything up. the car skidded and now it wont move. i managed to get the shifter out of 3rd gear into the neutral, however when the it was in neutral and i let off the clutch, the car stalled because it was still in gear. i checked the cables that connect to the tranny to the shifter, and it was ok. is my ring and pinion locked? if my ring and pinion locked, do i need a new transmission? i only heard a grinding sound when i put the shifter into 3rd, could that have locked my ring and pinion? thanks everyone for their time for helping me.
