  1. Hi Did you have any luck removing the instrument cover on your 987....if so how did you do it? I have an '07 987 and having driven a Spyder recently which had exposed instruments I would like to do the same to my car. Thanks.
  2. Hi from the UK I've been searching for information on this. I have a 2007 Boxster 987 S and having recently driven a Spyder which had exposed cover-less instruments I would like to remove the cover on my car. Have you got any diagrams of the procedure at all and do Porsche sell the trim panel to fill the gap once the cover is removed? I'll ask Dynamike if he had any luck too. Thanks
  3. This is from an article on the Planet-9 site. This is being done on a Cayman, but it's still a 987, so it should be the same: 1. Start by adjusting your steering wheel to the lowest position pulled towards you. 2. Pull the trim panel (the one with leather) towards you. It is tight. I circled where you can grab onto. You can slowly pry the sides with a screw driver if your careful. 3. Once you loosen the trim panel you have access to two screws undernieth the gauge. Remove those. 4. Wiggle and pull the gauge pods towards you to remove. The top trim panel stays in place. 5. Remove the connector from the rear of the pods by lowering the locking lever. I did not get an error messages so I think it is safe to remove. Just don't turn on your car until your done. 6. Remove the pods. 7. Remove the 7 screws holding the top trim panel in place and take out the trim panel. 8. Once the trim panel was removed I put the screws back in without the trim to make sure I don't lose them. I'll install the replacement trim panel once Suncoast gets them in. 9. Re-connect the gauge pods. 10. Place the pods in and screw it back in (2 screws)
  4. Hi...first post from new member. Has anyone removed the instrument cowl/binnacle from a Boxster 987 gen 1?...if so, how is it done? I have recently driven the new Spyder which has this done and like to look. Apparently Porsche sell a trim piece which fits the gap when the cowl is removed. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
