  1. I discovered a leak on the power steering reservoir of my 996tt. It was caused by a broken grommet. I need help to find a grommet like in the picture below. Can anybody give the part number of this red grommet or where can I get a replacement. Thank you.
  2. I also had P1109 input variables charge measurement on my 996TT. A few days ago, I erased the fault codes with my Durametric and the CEL was gone. Then, I went out for a short drive this Christmas morning and suddenly the CEL lit up after about a mile from my home. I went back home, plugged the Durametric and erased the code. Now, there is no CEL, but Im afraid it will come back again unless I find the cause. I just replaced my TB and plenum with an Agency Power Plenum and throttle body from Vivid Racing. It was fine after installing the TB for several weeks until one morning the CEL lit up and the P1109 came out in my Durametric. Can anyone give any information on what to do?
  3. I replaced my 996TT stock throttle body with an Agency Power TB and plenum from Vivid Racing. It gave my 996TT great throttle response. However, after a few days, I got a CEL and by using a Duramteric and I found the code P1109. I erased the fault code and the CEL was gone. After a few days, I decided to move the 996TT to another spot in my garage and the CEL lit up again. I used the Durametric again to erase the fault code. I read a blog at reentech (cant remember which one) where it said to turn on the ignition on for 30 seconds and wait for clicking sound at the engine. It meant that the TB has reset. So, thats what I did after erasing the fault code with the Durametric. So far, the CEL hasn't lit up. Can anyone tell me what to do next time if the P1109 fault code crops up again? Thanks.
  4. I reflashed my 997tt with a softronic. You'll realize the difference after you download the reflash. It will be a different car when you drive it and step on the gas. Its worth the $1500+ price tag. Together with an exhaust and free flowing air filters, you'll love your 997tt more. :king:
  5. Thanks. I pulled down the starter. The solenoid needs cleaning. Cleaned it over the weekend. Hopefully, ill install the starter tonite and hope it now cranks and start the car.
  6. Im having problems getting my 07 997tt engine started. I have to turn the ignition switch several times to get the engine started. But on my last 10 attempts to start the car, I coulnt start the engine. All I hear is "click".. My battery is new at 12.72 volts. I tried to use a jumper and still couldnt start the car. I now believe the problem is the starter solenoid. Can someone help me find the replacement solenoid in the internet? Please send me a link. Thanks
  7. Tried it last night. Wont fit. Rear tires hit the inner wall of the wheel well. :(
  8. Thanks PhilippJ, Kabayan ba tayo? :) Yes, In fact, I ordered this morning a Softronic ECU from Billy of Vividracing. Ill just wait for the cables. The 997-1 is already quick in its stock set-up, what more with the Softronic reflash. 555hp will not be a problem to achieve. Best regards
  9. Has anyone have any experience on a Softronic ECU reflash from Vividracing? I want to know how the car felt after the reflash.
  10. Hello Porsche 996TT enthusiasts, A friend of mine gave me a set of 19" 997 1st gen GT3 rims. I was wondering if this would fit into my 996tt. Can anyone give an advise or experience on this? Thanks.
  11. You really need it to be calibrated with a PIWIS. Happened to me already. The durametrics has no calibration features. Only diagnostics and to erase fault codes. I have a friend who has a piwis. I just followed the same instructions from Loren on this blog and my gas guage is now OK.
  12. Thank you Loren, In item 7, are we going to turn on the ignition to perform the tank calibration? We're goin to do the PIWIS calibration tomorrow.
  13. Hi Guys, Can anyone send me a proceduaral instruction or a link on how to calibrate the fuel guage of myn996TT using a PIWIS? Thanks. Would appreciate your help.
  14. Yep. Got a softronic with launch control. Big, big difference. Worth all the money. After I downloaded the remap, the idle became more stable and the rev was more responsive. I shifted the 996tt on first gear and rev to 5200rpm. Then released the clutch and the 996tt launched like a bullet. A remap is worth it.
  15. If you cam get a new diverter valve, just replace the bad one and see what happens. If it still doesnt hold the vaccum, then get another one. I replaced mine with Agency Power DVs and I didnt have any problem. It cost around $260+.
  16. A 996TT "S" model has yellow brake calipers. Standard 996TT has red colored calipers. Appearance are the same except the X50 kit.
  17. Atomicveilside: Just downloaded my softronic to my 996TT. You are absolutely right its OMFG fast....Thanks
  18. Alex_55, Yes, its definitely a different car now. I cant believe it. Thanks
  19. Hi aquinto, I have a K24 turbo and headers from an X50, Agency Power Diverter valves, EVOMS wastegate, Samco F and intercooler hose and K&N panel filter. I also have a Sach Motorsports clutch. I still have the stock 996TT exhaust but I wil remove the cat to make a free-flowing exhaust. The after market exhaust are too noisy for me. The car came with at Tubi exhaust when I got it but I took it out and sold it. It was too noisy and deafening. For me, the Softronic is a good investment. You can add the other mods after you reflash the ECU. They will send you back your old original file which you can install back if you're going to sell the car or don't like the reflash. The torque of my 996TT after the reflash gave me an andrenalin rush. It accelerates like no other cars. I have an EVO8 and a moded Nissan Skyline GTR TT, but my Softronic-reflashed 996TT is definitely stronger and accelerate faster.
  20. I finally intalled the Softronic reflash to my 02 996TT. I followed all of Scott's instruction to the letter: plug to the car a battery charger set at 10 amperes; extracted the file from my email account to the desktop; checked if there's an internet connection by going to the softronic website, www.softronic.us; disabled all virus scan, windows auto-update, windows messenger etc. plugged in the cable to the laptop and the OBDII port of the 996TT; and switched on ignition. Then, I double clicked the zip file. When the softronic window appeared, I clicked "Yes" to proceed to download to the ECU. I looked at the status green bars and timed it. It took only 3mins 56 seconds for the "finished" box to appear. Instead of using a wi-fi or aircard, I wired and plugged in my laptop direct to my DSL connection. In that way, the internet speed would be faster. Probably, thats the reason why it just took me under 4 minutes to install the softronic reflashed file to the ECU. I strongly recommend softronic buyers to go this way to connect to the internet. When the "finished" button appeared, I clicked it right away, switched off the ignition, removed the cables and the laptop from the car. Then, I started the car. Revedd it and I notice a big difference in throttle response. It was very responsive and aggressive, just like a race car. I Took the car for a test drive and WOWWWW. OMG, its a different car now!!!!! The torque was incredible. The 996TT virtually flies. Your back will stick to the car seat. It was worth the wait for Softronic to send back my file... Again thanks to BJ of Vivid Racing and of course, conratulations to Scott for a wonderful product, more power to you!!!!. I strongly recommend the Softronic reflash to all 996TT owners.
  21. Finally, I received the email containing the softronic file and my original file for my 996TT reflash. I will download the reflashed file tomorrow. Wish me luck so that no snafu will happen. Read and re-read the instructions to the letter. Thanks to BJ of Vivid Racing and to Scott of Softronic. Ill keep you posted after the reflash.
  22. Got an email from Vivid racing and said softronic wasn't able to get my files or was corrupted. So, I was told to redo the entire process of extracting and uploading the files again this morning. It took only 19 seconds to upload and get the "upload completed" message. Will just have to wait for the zip files to be emailed back. I cant wait to get the reflash. The Police here don't ticket you for speeding. Practically, there is no speed limit here thats why they call our place "Paradise".
  23. Its been more than 48 hours since I uploaded my ecu map to softronic. I havent received my reflashed zip file. I've filled up my name, email address, year, model etc.. before uploading the file. Will wait for another 24 hours before I call vivid racing.
  24. I got the flash for 996TT with launch control. I got the softronic cable from Vivid racing several weeks ago but I was so busy at work that I just worked on it this morning. I've just extracted by 996TT ecu file and uploaded it to Softronic. Im just waiting for them to email me back the reflashed zip file. It just took me less than 5 minutes to extract the ECU map from my car and 20 seconds to upload it back to them. Its important to read the instructions and disabled the virus scan and windows update. Ill let you know when they email back my reflashed zip file and install it to my 996TT.
  25. My 2002 996TT ran out of gas when the fuel guage was at 1/2. I filled her up and used it for a while and tried to checked the fuel tank. The guage showed 3/4 gas. I removed the gasoline in the tank and I got 33 liters out. Then, I checked on the hoses inside and see if it obstructed the fuel float. Then, I Tie wrapped one of the hose towards the firewall, as suggested in one of the renntech.org topics to avoid obstructing the float. Then, I placed back the 33 liters, which should be at least 1/2 of the 64-liter fuel tank. However, the fuel guage reading is still at 3/4? I also cleaned the fuel float switch with WD40 to remove possible fuel gums. No change. Is there any other way to fix this problem? :thankyou:
