  2. Easy task + tight space + 90 degrees = PITA BTW, I tried not to lose the screws, but of course, managed to do so. Thx all.
  3. Hi - I am replacing the interior rear door panels on my 1999 996. Can someone send me the removal instructions? Much Appreciated!
  4. What is the correct way and appropriate tool to use to measure remaining brake pad and rotor thickness? TIA, Mark
  5. I just did it a few weeks ago. Very simple to do and Scouser has some great photos of the process.
  6. I saw these wheels a few years ago. Likely not true but the dealer in Houston said that they were porsche 'carrera cup' wheels and I did not pursue the point any further. If you get the part number from the inside of the wheel, you can do a google search and likely track down the manufacturer. Also, if you want to replace them, check ebay or www.wheelenhancement.com. M
  7. I looked around and ended up staying with the Mich PS. I think they are good tires. If you have specific driving requirements or if you are a tire person, then maybe the incremental difference from one tire to another will make a noticable difference. Otherwise the standard summer sports from the major manufactures will probably all be about the same.
  8. I am almost problem free at 50K miles. By the time the C4's came out many of the early build issues were resolved. Enjoy the ride! M
  9. Search this site. About a month ago a guy had all of these hosted and downloadable for free. Alternatatively, you can by the set on ebay in PDF format for about $40.
  10. Does anyone know if the MY 04 Carrera 5 spokes will fit on a MY 99 Carrera 4? TIA, Mark
  11. The OBC is an option and whether it was ordered or not, the computer was buit into the cluster. Its about $180 in parts. Well documented install instructions but it takes a few hours.
  12. There is a guy on this board that is hosting the 02 + tech manuals. I am not sure if that will help but there is one for electrical. That and some trial and error should od the trick! I would love to see some of the WIP pics....
  13. Hi - have a 99 C4, with the 490 Hi Fi Sound package. I was thinking about buying a (used) DSP system (option P49). A few questions: 1) is the in console DSP module the only part that this different or is there a seperate amp for the DSP? 2) Will this plug directly into my existing sound wiring? 3) If not, what is required? 3) Any other considerations? Thanks, Mark
  14. Quite a few people have done the side skirt only approach so I am surprised no one posted a picture. I dont have a picture but I have seen a few with only the side skirts. I think it looks OK It definitelly accentuates the 'middle' of the car and makes it look more substantial. If you like the side skirt look, then I think you will be happy with it w/ or w/o the aero front bumper.
  15. So I dont go through life not knowing, what is the significance of the offset? TIA
  16. Holy Self Promotion -- I have the B&M for sale in the classifieds... new in box for $199, shipping included!
  17. I had the same problem jared mentioned. I took a short cut and taped the jumper down to the wiring harness and that solved the problem (I should have done that to begin with!)
