  1. The trailer only has surge brakes, is a brake controller necessary on this type of application?
  2. Lurked for a few days and joined up today. Still lots of reading to do, but so far this has been a great resource in our research. My wife and I are currently in Iraq, deployed contractors in the IT field. We have recently put a deposit down on a 2006 Cayenne S Titanium Edition. The dealer is going to hold the vehicle for us until we return, which is the end of this month. This will be a first for both of us as far as a luxury vehicle and it being a Porsche! A few pics of our Cayenne... After some reading on here I have read about the cooling pipes needing replacing. Luckily we live in Tampa, and are only about 45 mins away from Suncoast. First thing on my list is to go ahead and replace cooling pipes with the aluminum pipes from Suncoast. My reason for doing so, and leading into my question is, not only will this be my wife's daily driver, but will act as a secondary tow vehicle for our 22' ski boat. Dry weight the boat and trailer come in at 5100lbs. Well under the manufacture rating, and I might add it does have the factory installed tow package on it already. So for those who use their Cayenne as a tow vehicle, what are some items I should look at to ensure we are ready for towing? We are planning a trip to NC towards the end of May, and would really like to drive the Cayenne pulling our new boat, but I want to do so with a peace of mind knowing we are road worthy and safe!
