  1. The dealer looked at it and said the motor is bad. $480 for a new one installed.. just fyi
  2. You might want to give this a try? Have someone put a little pressure on the rear lid "clamshell" directly in the middle above the the brake light while you push the switch to open the top. If it starts to open let go of the lid. There is a micro switch just under the clamshell that may not be getting all the way pressed down. once the lid starts to open the switch should not be pressed down durring the process untill the lid closes again. I had that problem a year ago and installed some faom under the lid to make shure it presses down on the micro switch when the lid closes. It's worth a try.
  3. Update..... i went out today after the car had been sitting in the garage for a few days. I was going to disconnect the rods and manually close the lid. I tried closing the top automatically one more time. I did get it to close, but it was super slow. Windows are working and all micro switches apear to be working. I would be afraid to open it again without knowing first what the main canidates causing the problem are. Actually i will have the dealer look at when it goes in for for schedualed maint next thursday. I would still like any info available if its something i can replace or fix my myself. Thanks again.
  4. 1997 My top has been moving slower and slower. The other day i was putting the top up and it came to a hault half way. I have an appointment for the 70k maint next week to keep up with the extended warranty. The dealership is an hour away and can't drive the car in its current condition. What should i be looking at? or can someone point me in the right direction of how to at least get the top up manually so i can get it to the dealer to have it looked at? The push rods are connected and not broken. The entire assembly stopped ( clam and top) Thank you.
