  1. I cannot believe I was so stupid and turned the bolt the wrong way when doing an oil change.

It was the oil drain plug on the engine and now I cannot tighten to the correct torque without it just spinning.

It seems to be just about tight enough not to leak but I guess this will show now in the next few weeks, what options do I have?

As im not happy to leave it like this.

  2. Hello Everybody,

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here hope you are all well.

My 996 turbo 2001 is giving a error on dashboard of spoiler failure this only seems to happen when the spoiler goes up at over 70mph, when putting the spoiler up by itself it doesn’t give the error, seems to be lifting okay even though the error appears.

    Any suggestions?

  3. Hi My 996tt 2001 has a rusted and snapped actuator rod, its the rear passenger side.

If I buy the rod from porsche its £60, is it easy to fit myself and does anybody have any info. It seems easy enough to set as its snapped in the middle so I should be able to set each end.

Any advice or DIY info would be great.

    Regards,

    Greg.

  4. I bought my 996 turbo 2001 5 years ago and I still remember when I would drive the car I would get out shaking, It just gripped and gripped around the bends the car had pirelli asimetrico tyres and I still put the same tyres on now but it just does'nt feel the same maybe im just use to the car,

Anyway I would like to know what tyres do you guys use and what is better then my asimetrico's

  5. Does it make the car run better?

the standard porsche plugs have the bit that sparks and 2 bits of metal around it, these iridium have such a tiny electrode and a small bit of metal,

denso plugs claim to make the car run much better but wouldnt porsche change to thses if they were that good?

  6. Im sure my rotors are not the problem as they are brand new from porsche, and when I brake the brake pedal is fine I dont feel anything only the streering shakes. This was happening before I had the brakes changed I thought that this would fix the problem, could it be the wheel is buckled or needs balancing it seems to be coming from front passenger side.

  7. Hello Everybody,

I donated to this site today for the first time, I did so because Of all the money ive saved compared to getting my problems fixed in a garage.

I should have donated when I first got the help I needed, anyway I did so now and will keep doing as this site has saved me a estimated £7000 yes that’s UK sterling, Thanks Loren and guys for all your help.
