  1. Hi Loren,

I can not find any damaged or bad ground wires. I disconnected the window motor wires and found them to be a bit damp cleaned and put back together but still have the problem, still had the problem even with all wires disconnected.

What is happening exactly is I can hear what sound like a relay clicking in each door then the car is unlocking itself then the windows come down even when the car has opened the windows and unlocked itself you can still here relay clicking in each door. The car is not unlocking itself or locking straight away with the key, the sensor in the car in the middle of the front window flashes when you try to lock/unlock but it doesn’t re-spend and sometimes works but most times not.

It seems to be acting like when you hold the button on the key remote and it unlocks and opens the windows

I have had to remove the fuse for the electric windows and take out the door lights but this is not good as windows need to be forced in to close doors. (can not remove the interior light fuse as alarm is connect to it)

Need help as the weather is very cold -6 unbelievable for UK, I really do not want to take the car to Porsche as I know im going to get stung.

    Thanks.

  2. I had to ring porsche to get my key deactivated, then I purchased another from them I think it was about £150 may have been £180 can not remember for sure and I did have to take the vehicle to them with the remaning key I had. But I was able to drive there. ring your porsche service department and tell them what is going on with the key. they did say to me if somebody has the key that was deactivated then it would still allow them into the car but would not let them start it.

    Hope this helps a little.

    Regards,

    Greg.

  3. sound like you are trying a deactivated key.

A deactivated key will unlock all doors and do all as you say but will not start car. if spare doesnt work you need to contact porsche dealer.

I lost my key and had it deactivated from porsche, few weeks later found the key and it did the same as yours. if the key has been deactivated then you can not use it again.

    regards,

    Greg.

  4. My lights where also damaged in the same place after I had a little bump nothing major just lifted the bumper a little, done the repairs myself and also repaired the lights. Im not saying your car had a bump this could also have been done with force as you say.

I used fibre glass repair and then sanded and painted over with black paint, be careful you don’t put any inside the light, it was very simple and now you can not see the damage I think fibre glass repair kit would last the lifetime of your lights mine cost £11 in the uk and was done over 3 years ago still unable to tell where damage was.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Hi, Does anybody know where to get a 2010 sat nav cd, my car is a 2001 so I think its the pcm1 sat nav. The disk is made by NAVTEQ, only I do not wish to pay the dealer price £500-£800, can anybody copy and send me I will pay or suggest a download.

    Thanks.

    forgot to say UK version

  6. Hi Guys,

My 996TT 2001 with 80k on the clock and no mods was recently only boosting to 0.5, so I suspected the hoses and as it was going to have brakes changed at a Porsche specialist anyway so I had them check the boost and there was a gasket blowing on one of the turbo's. Replaced and now the car is boosting to a constant 0.7 and I have been told the hoses do not need changing as they are fine.

But after reading on the forum that you guys are all boosting to 0.9 is there still something wrong with my car?

I have had the car for four years and it only had 25k on the clock with Porsche warranty being brought from a Porsche dealer and I can not remember if the car ever boosted to 0.9 I think it always hit 0.7,

Sorry for the long explanation but please advise, Thanks all.
