  1. Hi Loren, thanks again for you help. The sounds certainly sound like they are coming from there but also a good idea to ring the OPC where the car was purchased. Thankfully it is is till my nearest Porsche Main dealer and i am sure they will help. Cheers Ray
  2. Hi Loren, thanks for responding. The TSB is 6420 (Noises at the Windshield and rear Window) and i am trying to work our if my care has the new treated outer seal for the windshield. Based on the information you have supplied and only looking at the last FIVE digits then my car (ending 644577) is before the key production change (ending 650118). If so then while i install the new foam rubber cord I should install a new improved outer seal for the windshield which apparently makes the whole job easier? Does this all make sense, as you can read by my questions I am new to Porsche ownership.
  3. Can anyone help me understand the VIN sequence for a Porsche 996 1999 Carrera 4 i have just purchased. I have read a TSB and I need to find out if my car is before or after a detailed VIN of 998XS 650118. I already know the last six digits are the sequence of the vehicle for production as it rolled off the assembly line. But does that apply to all six digits or just the last four? My VIN ends 644577. I have the same 10th digit of X so i know my car is the same year but I read somewhere that only the last four is the true sequence making mine later. Thanks for any help or advice. Ray Calder
