  1. I actually picked up complete set of TorqueSolutions dog bones. Going in on Thursday getting it aligned on Saturday :)
  2. Just drive around "South Florida Style" for a while (i.e. A/C full blast windows down). It works ;)
  3. I am in same boat and also in FL. I can tell you my buddies 2001 did it before mine and eventually foam goes away A/C works fine. So far mine has been at it about 2 months and A/C works fine. Annoying? Yes! Annoying enough to pull out my dashboard? Nope!
  4. OEM are not adjustable and with an x74 lowered car I cannot adjust to degree (pun intended) that want need on the rear. See descriptions from various aftermarket companies on subject. "Adjustable Porsche 996/997 Cayman & Boxster Rear Toe Links will help restore the proper suspension geometry for lowered vehicles.. The factory control arm do not have the adjustment range needed to compensate when lowering your 996/997, Cayman or Boxster.. This results in poor tire wear and an insufficient contact patch. There are two major drawbacks to the factory links: 1) You can’t lower your car and maintain proper suspension geometry. The factory links create too much toe-in, which cannot be adjusted out, creating handling problems and excessive tire wear. 2) The factory links have rubber bushings, which make handling imprecise, especially in performance driving when suspension loads are highest."
  5. Adjustable tie rods, point me in the right direction. car is mainly DD looking for rears that will give me more alignment adjustability with my current x74 suspension. Not sure I need the big buck full racing ones but open to ideas. Thanks in advance
  6. Anyone use the Bosch aftermarket fan instead of the OEM with success? OEM = $400+ for a fan  Bosch = $200 or less
  7. Loud high pitched noise and vibration from passenger front of my 40th AE. No noise until car warms up and then with A/C on I can feel it kick into high at which point the noise and vibrations starts and it will stop a little after when fans cut out. Car not overheating and temp stars right at 180 - 185 which is where it has always been. Seems pretty indicative the problem is a fan and I assume this is the radiator fan (bearing??) telling me about to give up the ghost? Can anyone chime in and help me concur. Anything bad if I just let it go for a bit I had a planned oil change later in the month and rather just knock out both . Also, what is cheapest place to get replacement? What is involved cost wise. Finally, is replacement the only option? Should I worry about drivers side going soon too?
  8. Loren, I though same thing about spring seating. However, after 10k miles coils has to be seated I would think, My indy looked at everything looks ok. I know springs had the proper paint dots on them to be x74 so don't think that is it. Educate me or point me to more info on compression plates or bump stops. As far as I know using OEM bump stops. Why would bump stop cause ride height discrepancy on a static cars suspension not under load? What are the correct bump stop part number for x74 front and rear?
  9. I asked about this before and I have just kind of lived with but it does bug me every once in a while. My 40th AE seems to sit a little higher passenger rear on side than the other. There is about a .5 inch maybe difference in the wheel well gaps between the passenger side rear fender and the driver’s side rear fender the driver’s side to top of tire being the lower one of the two. I've measured this while parked with no one sitting in the car. It seems to me that since the installed OEM x74 and has had almost 10k miles to “settle” this would have sorted itself out by now. Is there was a way to level x74 suspension? Car drives fine and alignment done since and tire wear are fine it’s really more of an I KNOW it is there and kind of bugs me. I know can’t corner balance non-coil overs so any options available to even this up?
  10. Hankook V12 evo best bang for the buck on the street and excellent rain tire
  11. How do I reinstall the plastic seat belt adjuster in my 2004? Pain in the ***, fell off and have been screwing around with it for an hour with no luck. Does not appear broken and all parts appear to be intact. Just fell off in my passengers hand and can't seem to get it back in place.
  12. After installing my x74 my passenger rear tire to fender clearance is consistently about not quite ½ inch off the other three corners when level (i.e. that one corner has it sits higher than the rest). Is there anything I can do there or when the x74 suspension went in that spring did not seat properly? It drives fine and has been that ay since January so really at this point more cosmetic than anything else. Just curious.
  13. Can I get a concensous on Motor mounts and transmission mounts. My car is going on 63k miles is my DD for most part and sits on X74 suspension. I am looking at doing motor mounts in next few months what would you guys suggest? 1. GT3RS 2. WEVO semi solid 3. OEM What about trannsmission mount? I have heard Porsche now specs a newer 997 mount? worth it? How big of a job is that?
  14. Just changed my oil Friday on my 2004 AE wich is x51 took 9 Qts
  15. I FINALLY found them part# is 999.507.497.40 in case anyone needs to know.Wow, that was NOT easy, LOL.
  16. Some guys are claiming they run 996TT engine mounts as they are stiffer internally and fit a 996 N/A. Even in pictures the look identical: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/996SEM.html?Category_Code=996EXHAUST36
  17. Confused. So why do they list 2 seperate mounts one for 996 N/A and one for 996 TT? I am looking for a firmer mount without having to go WEVO, GT3RS or solid. Any ideas?
  18. Part numbers for 996 Turbo splitter 9965053550001C mounting hardware. Just ordered one and does not come with the mounting hardware to attatch to my 2004 40th Anniversary can somone post the part numebr of the rivots and how many I need so I can order from dealer because as USUAL my dealer has no F'ing idea :/ Thanks,
  19. Are 996 TT 99337504909 and 996 NA 99337504908 motor mounts the same? Looking for stiffer mounts but not sure want to deal with increased vibration from WEVO or Porsche RS mounts. Thanks
  20. Any place for detailed instructions on how to remove my front bumper and the air inlets? I have a 2004 40th Anniversary Edition which has the turbo front bumper and I am looking to remove and repaint the air inlets flat black and picked up a turbo front spoiler for a more aggressive look. Thanks P.s. Part number for the lower spoiler installation hardware would also be appreciated.
  21. Anyone have suggestions on tire pressure when running x74 on the street?
