  1. Update to issue:

Removed engine cover to replace the TPS and the wires to the unit were chewed up by a freaking mice. Soldered all wires back together, cleared CEL, and everything is good to go. Time to set some traps in the garage. Thank you both for the assistance. This board is the best.

  2. Hi All,

I have a MY99 with 40k & the CEL popped up Friday after dropping my little one @ Montessori. The car stalled on the way out of the parking lot but did not think anything about it, until I reached the red light. Car was idling rough & just stalled, started again and pushed it & works ok. But at the next red light, car stalls again. So I finally made it back home with the traffic and now it sits in the garage. My son is bummed out since ride the Boxster in the morning to school until this gets resolved.

Any ideas? Did a forum search & saw a post in the 996 section about Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Can anyone elaborate on this issue? Thank you. Appreciate any assistance from the board.

  3. Hello,

I'm not familiar with Orange County, CA, and am looking for a non-dealer service shop to do for my base 2000 Boxster:

    1. 60,000 mile service

    2. Replace ignition switch

    3. Possibly replace light switch (both front lights don't come on, but hi-beams do).

Any recommendations for a low-price/good-quality service shop would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you. :renntech:

Call Factory Werks in Huntington Beach & see if they help you. Just look up on the web. I have not used them yet but will try them soon.
