  7. Update to issue: Removed engine cover to replace the TPS and the wires to the unit were chewed up by a freaking mice. Soldered all wires back together, cleared CEL, and everything is good to go. Time to set some traps in the garage. Thank you both for the assistance. This board is the best.

  9. Hi All, I have a MY99 with 40k & the CEL popped up Friday after dropping my little one @ Montessori. The car stalled on the way out of the parking lot but did not think anything about it, until I reached the red light. Car was idling rough & just stalled, started again and pushed it & works ok. But at the next red light, car stalls again. So I finally made it back home with the traffic and now it sits in the garage. My son is bummed out since ride the Boxster in the morning to school until this gets resolved. Any ideas? Did a forum search & saw a post in the 996 section about Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Can anyone elaborate on this issue? Thank you. Appreciate any assistance from the board. walt

So tonite I checked the clutch switch & the car started. Check it out, depress the clutch and pull out the switch with your fingers. I need to clean the switch now.
