  1. I just ordered a set for my 981 CS. Doe's anyone have any experience with the Tarett studs? The factory bolts look like junk . Not rolled threads and a poorly finished 10.9 grade. The factory studs look to be the same quality. thanks carl
  2. Both the GT3 & 2 clutch pedals squeak tried some wd40 on the pivot points no luck. Where is it coming from and how do I fix it. thanks carl
  3. My temp gauge has gone nuts several times. The needle goes dead, then comes back on like a louse wire. the dealer has replaced the sending unit then 700mi later it did it again. They now have replaced the thermostat. I think it may be the gauge I'm waiting to see how long it lasts before it trips a code again. Has anybody had a simular problem. thanks carl

  6. has anybody had one fail, my gt3 @ 900mi the temp gauge will stop and read 100 trip the red light and the check engine light. dealer read the the code and its the temp sensor im waiting for the part and still driving the car because its not overheating. has anyone else had a simular problem? thanks

  13. Now that I got the correct software 2003-1 for the 3.0 system the" loading new language" is off the screen. The dealer didn't have a clue but thanks to this board I read the tsb and figured out how to tell what systen i have. I then called navtec and they told me i had the wrong CDs. But i still can't figure out what the voice button doe's. When i press it, it just says "not avalable."
  14. What are the factory specs on the 40th ann 911? Is it differant than a regular c2?
  15. I used the tsb and found out I have version 3.0 and of course the dealer had them send me the disks that say2002-1 which is for 2.o . I called navtec and they said that i should have2003-1. there sending them overnight I think that will take care of the problem. Ill report back after i receive them . Thanks for all the help, to bad the people that sell this stuff don't know what there selling. carl
  16. How do I get "Loading new language" off the screen when I hit the nav button. I left the cd in for an hour while driving and it never goes away!! Help. thanks carl
  17. Doe's it seem the rms and shaft bearing failers are getting better on the 03s. What milage do the leaks typically show up at? This kind of pisses me off to find this out after having an engine bearing recall on my 02 M3 . Mabe I should have found this board before dropping 90k last week on a 40th ann 911. I was hopeing that after 5 years in production they would have sorted this out!! thanks
  18. I have an 04 996 with the x51 package it feels a lot slower than my 02 m3 or My 03 evo . I wont even compear it to my 02 Z06. A few years back i had a 993tt and it was a rocket. The 996 has a better hp-weight ratio than the m3 it should be quicker.. Has anybody tested the x51 vs the reg 320hp? This my first water cooled porsche. thanks
  19. The gray dot is on the front also. Also this thing feels a lot slower than my 02 m3 and it has 345hp pushing 3100 lbs. My m3 has 333 and 3450 to push. Both have the same tourqe . What gives? I had a 96 993tt and that was a rocket. For the last year I also have had a 02 Zo6 that is almost as fast as the tt was. Will the 996 get quicker when it louseens up? How long will it take? Is the X51 really quicker? thanks carl the gray dot is on the front and the rear. Also why does this thing feel so much slower than my 02 m3 (Edited our white space - Loren)
  20. Does my 04 40th ann c2 have the sport sup? What is the normal measurement from the bottom of the front wheel to the fender? The sway bars are 19r& 23F and the shocks have a gray dot on them. The schocks are labeled the front says "c2sportcoupe" and the rear says "911 40 ann" thanks Carl
