well worth it!
I fixed the module myself for 5 dollars in part., it was an easy fix
-
It is the lowering unit to lower your air suspension,! I was trying to figure out how to set them with the two varaible resistor knob that is on the control unit, however rinspeed is not helpful neither of their dealer
-
Hey Timmy, any chance you can recall your source for those $5 parts? Please!! And maybe indicate on the pics which parts you replaced?
Tim in Ft Worth
I got the 0.22 OHM fusible resistor from mouser.com
I had them special ordered, but it seemed they purchased a LARGE amount after my special order,. and its now listing on their website now
the MOFSET
I got it from West Florida Electronic

LONG STORY SHORT,,...My entry and drive system went bad one day., after almost a year of testing , replacing the battery, buying the test tool, almost brought a china piwis ,.... and bringing it to dealer and 800 dollars of dealer time., I had it fixed for 5 Dollars in parts. and one hr of soldering
at first my kessy do not communicate to the darmatic tool or PIWIS at all, the dealer went ahead try to replace it , with a superseeded module, HOWEVER they wasn't able to program it for unknown reason, there is no module out there that will take my car's pin and complete the marry process because they said all the module has been superceeded.
The dealer offer me to replace ALL the module in the car to an updated version for a cheapo $3000 dollars.! OF COURSE I refused,. ...,. I only lost my alarm horn , entry and drive function and its not worth $3000 dollars,.
I was investigating myself trying to see what causing the problem, I came in to the touareg forum and found out those guys there have a lot of the problems with their module too. ... I was like ,hum.,,. then go under my dash and found the kessy module that is EXACTLY the same as theirs including the part number (WHICH IS A VW part number stamped on a sticker btw)....
there is one guy there that took his module to a local electrician and found he has 2 fried mofset and 6 fried resistors.!!!
I was like, fxxx it, why don't I give it a try, at first I couldn't found the 0.22ohm resistors (its was HARD trust me I took almost 2 months looking for them)., so I went ahead replaced the two mofset........... 15 mins and a lot of smoke later....... MAN,,,... the module can communicate with my Durametic tool...! HOWEVER,, all the antennas are reporting short to ground ERROR!!! I tried to clear it but the code come back instantly.
then I went on to test the resistor value,... and found all six of the 0.22ohm resistors are SHORT (they are fusible resistor btw)....,,. sooooo I tried my best and finally able to locate those 0.22 ohm resistor ..,
fast forward 2 months later............ I received those resistors today.............. another 15 mins of smoke and sweat with my resoldering station... I plug the module back... run the scan tool clean the fault codes!!!!...................
moment of truth,, I plug my dummy key in to the key cyclinder with the real key in my pocket!!!!!!!!!!!!! turn and the CAR STARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have successfully fixed a $3000 dollars repair (that don't guarantee will work) with 5 dollars worth of resistors !!!!!!
NOTE: IF your kessy don't communicate with the scan tool,. Its the TWO MOFSET that is Fried.
if you have all antennas short to ground or not responding its the 6 resistors!

I changed my for 1700 plus labor 300 dollars !. Brought a reman, from sunset porsche ended up porsche sent a brand new one
-
the gear ratio is different
-
it is different in all models
They're different for sure from V6 to V8. The transfer case housing is longer in the V6 to make up for the shorter length of the engine. I couldn't tell you however if there was any difference from manual to automatic.
-
If you need a transfer case I have one available I switched it a perfectly working transfer case out and later found out its my front running gear that was broken.
-
Can you tell me more about the ground strap? ., do you mean the battery ground? or just the ground to that part of the system
Disconnect the ground strap in front of the driver seat for approx. 5 minutes and try again, if the system still does not work you will need a PIWIS diagnostic tool. Hope it helps.

the switch in my CTT do not pop open the tailgate, !... I had this problem since the truck was new, then I figured.
it only unlock the rear switch on the tailgate,,, if a person actually go open the tailgate by pressing it. then it will open..
My '04 S does not pop the entire tailgate open but it unlocks it so the handle will open it.
I do recall a DIY retrofit that adds springs so then the rear gate is remotely released it pops-up a bit. I'll look around for that info for you.
For the upper glass window if you hold the tailgate icon on the remote down for two full seconds the glass window will indeed pop-up. This tidbit was detaield in the owner's manual. Pretty cool.
And of course newer models have the auto open/close tailgate feature.
-
TRIED Every thing still the same!
the dummy key no longer start the car.
You can always try with key #2, or replace the battery inside the remote, to start with.
-
04 CTT, entry and drive suddenly stopped working.,...
used the tool to check and its a code 3, no communication with the module, the remote still works button can lock and unlock the car
its just holding the handle the door will not lock or unlock or the dummy key no longer start the car
What do you guys think?....
LOW battery power that causes all these?..... however I have the car started and used the tool and it still cannot find the module

I think I too drained the wrong plug and have driven the car for like 10 miles.,., do you guys think there will be any damage done, and what kind of fluid does it use other than the porsche only fluid.
I've heard Amsoil 75w 90 would do and better ?
MY 2009 Cayenne have only one oil drain plug.phew :D RFM thanks. if could add you as friend twice i would do that or give you a star of the forum award (With Loren too :)
-
Did you get the problem fixed? same thing just happened to me,. it only sound loud with load, even small load ., I try to down shift at 65mph to 5 to 4 to 3.,
its the same sound with same tempo.
I even put the car in netual and it making a very small sound., so I assume its not the engine..
Ok. Just crawled under. Now it looks like there are actually three pieces between the front grear box and rear differential. The first section is about 1.5' long. I looked the connection area at that point and there's a rubber bushing that I can see completely through. The shaft and the out support are completely loose from eachother. Is that the bearing in question? Is that torn area my problem?
You guys are great...thank you so much. This is saving me (again) a lot of time, hassle, and money.
Matt

Thanks Loren you beat me too it..
DS
I think I just found the answer, the part ending in 60 is for the 2002 carrera onwards, while the part ending in 53 is the for 99-01 carreras but also fits the cayennes.
Thanks
DS
I own both, so does that means the 996 filter 99-01 will fit a cayenne?.
-
I have it and worked great.! ..
Bill:The UView tool includes a set of adapters to fit into the neck of most vehicles' coolant tanks. For the Porsche's coolant tank, two of the many adapters will fit perfectly.
The one that is in the shape of a cone will fit in the coolant reservoir's opening, and, once it's in place you turn a knurled knob which then expands the cone to make a pressure-tight seal which allows a great vacuum to build up when you connect the compressor to the fitting that is provided for that purpose.
Regards, Maurice.
Ahh, that sounds good enough.
I just replaced that verdammten coolant tank on my 2002 and now need to think about
getting one of these vacuum filler-uppers.
Bill
Bill:
This tool will be one of the very best presents you could ever buy yourself. It's that good. Don't hesitate to buy it.
The fact that it costs one fifth of what Porsche wants for it and that it is the SAME exact tool (without the Porsche sticker) makes it that much sweeter!
Regards, Maurice.
