  1. Fabspeed makes a very good header for Turbo. So does Maxspeed Motorsports. Some people prefer the sound of the Tubi so they combine components. Remember when you hear the term "sport cats" it means 200 cell catalytic converters (stock cats are 800 cell and much more restrictive.) 200 cell cats are legal and will pass smog checks. When the say "race" it usually means no cats which make the car illegal on the highway (not to mention extremely loud.) Hope this helps..

As for his warranty covering the intercoolers... Probably not... If their computer detects he has altered the ECU the warranty will be void. (Unless the Porsche dealer did the mods.)

    Phillip,

Thank you, that is very clear. I didn't know the difference in the past. I need to write it down to memorize. Sports Cat = 200 Cell Catalytic Converters. I am paying very high dollars to get the job done at Momentum Porsche in Houston. I don't feel like paying too much, but rather paying the right price for the top notch work. They are going to use my vehicle this Sat. to show to Porsche enthusiast. Warranty was the reason I chose the Momentum Porsche and I didn't want to get bounced around between shops if the problems arise in the future. I have a close friend and he told me that he has been dealing with Momentum for last 7 years with all type of modification work and have not had any unfair incidents from them. Again, thank you and I will let you guys know something soon about car's sound and performance.

  2. No chip flashing for me. I am happy with the factory red-line.

I have seen Caymens as fast as my Carrera S and I am just

waiting for them to explode. You know there pushing when a 3.2 is

    as fast as a 3.8.

    Paul

Understand. Dealer has promised me that they will give me something in writing but yes you are right, making it go faster will have some effect on the some of the components that is directly impacted by increased torque. Thank you for your comments.

  3. No performance with new tips. The stock tips are brushed

chrome plated. You can buy polished chrome plated tips. They

are easier to clean but it is one of the more dirty places

    on the car.

It just depends on what you want.

    Paul

I am scheduled to take my 07 998 TT to Porsche dealer to do the Tubi Regular Exhaust, GIAC Tuning, and Champion Intercoolers.

I found out today that this set up doesn't come with Tubi Tips. I did ask dealer service manager if I can buy tips and for how much?

Do you guys think it will look ok with stock tips from Porsche?

Does stock tips performance equal to Tubi tips? or do they matter at all?

    Paul,

Thank you, Yes, I will be fine with just chrome plate. So, I will just save money.

It is 997 TT. I am still not used to acronym's of Porsche. Any recommendation on GIAC Tuning?

  5. hi,

today 1 second after pushing the sport bottum I heard the big blast (huge backfire) and found the both inter cooler brocken :o .

the 997 turbo is european model 2007 with sport chrono, 6000 miles on odo only in perfect condition.

fabspeed headers , tubi sport cats and mufflers.

could someone please help me what was the reason of the back fire? have had ever seen this before?

best regards and thnx in advance

    911rs

What came out of the intercoolers? Did you buy the stock intercoolers? Was it fixed under warranty? When you say Tubi Sport Cats? Is that Tubi regular or Tubi Race? And last question. Don't Tubi make the exhaust with headers? What was the reason using the Fabspeed headers and Tubi Exhaust?

Sorry for too many questions. I am trying to learn.

  6. Finally finished all the mods on my car. Softronics ECU upgrade, Fabspeed cat back exhaust and Fabspeed intake system and EVOMS diverter valves.

Car is scary fast and chips all 4 wheel in every gear--- and at part throttle.

Looking forward to seeing what she will turn in the 1/4 mile!!

I have a 07 997 TT with Tubi Reg. GIAC Tune and Champions intercoolers. Perhaps around 580 HP. What would be the differences from your TT to what I have. I would like to know for the future references. Is your 997-2 TT S?

  7. Update.. Oh my God this car is fast. According to my tech with the mods it had around 560hp and approx 600lbs or torque. It's an amazing experience. I'll post some pics before the week is up. Now I know what the rest of the 997 Turbo owners are talking about.....:clapping:

What is it like as far as sound and power? I used to have 2004 Carrera convertible and now have 07 977 TT. I have my vehicle scheduled to to the Tubi Exhaust Regular, GFCI tuning, Champion intercooler. I am not sure if I am going to have stock tips reused or new tubi tips.

  8. Do it.. I just had my Chip done and the exhaust. The difference is amazing. My tuner used GT2 spark plugs as well (it was time for a service.) I love th eTubi system. Couldn't afford right now though... Good luck and post back after the works is done.

Thank you, Did you use the Tubi Regular or Tubi Race? My advisor at Porsche is asking me to go with Tubi Regular. What kind of chip and exhaust did you install on your car? What does GT2 spark plugs do for the 997 TT? My car only has 1250 miles now, so I am little reluctant to change out the spark plugs. They are going to put all my old ( but like new ) parts in the box that Tubi came in so that I can save them in my garage. I just had the i pod connection and blue tooth intergrated into my PCM. I have it scheduled with Porsche dealer in Houston to do the installation and tuning and intercooler next Wed. I am not sure what HP it will achieve. Can you explain the difference in driving and sounds?

  9. Hey guys,

I have been thinking to get a whole new exhaust system for my 997tt, with an ecu upgrade, approximately to 550-560 hp.

I'm doing some research for lots of brands and i now got 3 selections left to choice. Which one would you choose? You can say any other brands if you tell the reason :P And I also would appreciate any experiences and feedbacks about any of those systems!

here are some videos that i've found in youtube and from those videos, i'm leaning a little bit towards to fvd race type exhaust, but i haven't decided yet, it's important to me to read some experiences and opinions first.

    FVD Race Type

    Tubi

    thanks in advance.

I have also been looking into doing the exhaust, tuning and intercooler for my 07 TT. I made up my decision to have Porsche dealer in Houston to install the Tubi Regular with tuning. This will get me up to about 570 HP. I may add the Champion intercooler and that may add little power also.

  10. I'm trading in my 997 S for a 2007 Turbo. I've only had my Carrera for less than a year. Here are a couple pics and the options list.. It's got 40k miles and in absolutely perfect condition. It's got a CPO warranty until 07/2012. It has every option.. Including the limited slip dif and PCCB's. I love my Carrera but I couldn't resist this car. I got a really good deal on it.... I'll post some nice high res pics when I pick it up next week.

    Great. thank you for sharing.
