  1. I finally got this reply from Durametric... It's been open over two months now. Not sure if it is really being worked on. I wish I knew whether it was an issue with the Durametric software or my car. Jon
  2. I've been waiting over a month and a half now and emails to Durametric go unanswered. Either they don't know the answer or they don't care. It would be nice if anyone could offer help on this. Jon
  3. They did tell me at Duramtric that they would reset the VINs one time.
  4. I have a Durametric enthusiast kit that I bought to use with my 996 and 987.2. It works fine on the 996. On the 987.2(2011 Boxster) it won't read actual values. The only one that shows anything is RPM that shows a constant reading of 51. Everything else seems to work fine and can read actual readings on the 996. I contacted Durametric support and they had me send them a log. I waited a week and emailed them and got this response... "We have received the log file you submitted and have engaged our engineers. The log shows the car returning a single, non-changing value. This is the reason for the steady display of 51 rpm. We are attempting to learn more about why the car might return such an improbable value. As soon as we have more information we will return to you with details." It's been two more weeks and I've heard nothing from Durametric. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there something on the car that could cause this? I did try pulling the fuse for the instrument cluster but it didn't help. Thanks...
  5. I don't think that is the one I am looking for. I need the torque for the nut that goes on the stud coming out of the motor mount.
  6. Can anyone tell me the correct torque for the 18mm nut that holds the beam to the engine mount? Also, the torque for the two bolts that hold the mount to the car. TIA...Jon
  7. Can someone verify for me that 993-552-573-01-01C-OEM is the correct cover for the left side of the steering column with two holes for the turn signal and OBC stalk? The car is a 2000 996 Cabrio. I'm collecting parts for the OBC mod and this will be the last one. TIA...Jon
  8. Great news! Thanks Richard. Do I need to remove the steering wheel in order to remove add the computer stalk or can it be done while installed? Jon
  9. I have a 2000 996 C2. My computer is already active and i see the temp. I want to add the computer control stalk. I found a three stalk unit here on eBay Since my car has cruise control I wanted to know if I can just remove the computer stalk from the eBay unit and add it to my existing three stalk unit?
  10. You can probably get it redyed for about $100. I just had the interior of my 996 redyed including the center console and it came out great.
  11. The label that lists the options for my car is missing from the hood. Is there any way to reproduce the label so I can replace it on the car?
  12. Hi, I have a '00 996 Cabrio that is Forrest Green. The car was ordered debugged and I would like to put the correct emblem on the car. Should the emblem be Carrera and should it be Chrome, silver or black? Are there any other emblems that the car should have that were original? Thanks!
  13. Hi, I'm about to purchase a used 2011 987-2 and am considering replacing the head unit when I get it. The car doesn't have the Bose option but does have the sound plus package. My question is...can I just replace the head unit and still have the amplifier and speakers in the car continue to function? I know it would be a problem with the Bose system but I'm hoping sound plus will be okay with it. Thanks, Jon
  14. Hi, Before I start...this is a 2000 non-S with 34K. I never have gotten any code but P0134. I am getting an occasional CEL and when I scan the car I see only code P0134. If I do nothing the code always clears itself in about 2 hours of driving. I may be imagining this but it seems to occur when I start the car and only have it run for a few seconds like when I pull it out of the garage and then restart the car and start driving. It also is always low speed when it comes on. I have read other posts and seen where Loren posted the following causes for the code... P0134 Oxygen Sensor Ahead of TWC, Bank 1 – Interruption of Signal Possible causes: – Wiring harness – Oxygen sensor – DME control module My mechanic looked at it for any obvious signs of harness problems and said he saw none. So, what should I do? Wait and see? Replace the sensor? Also, does anyone know how ling it takes for the computer to reset the CEL after the P0134 illuminates it? Jon
  15. Hi, The knobs on my CDR-220 have started to slowly turn into a sticky goo. I'm not sure what has caused this, since nothing else in the car seems to be affected. I tried pulling on the knobs to remove them, but they don't seem to want to come off. Is there a secret or do I just need to pull harder? Once I get them off are replacements available? Failing replacements, if I buy a new faceplate from ebay will it work? Is the radio code a function of the radio or the faceplate? Jon
  16. These are great! Thank you for posting them. Does anyone have a picture with the under panels off? Jon
  17. Hi, I'm looking for some pictures of the underside of a Boxster. I want to route some cabling and I would like to be able to get some ideas prior to taking it someplace with a lift. I'm looking for pictures that go from the front trunk area all the way to the back bumper. Thanks for your help. Jon
  18. Has anyone ever routed a wire through this plastic cover? How much room in there inside of it? Jon
  19. You're right. I could mount the radio in the front trunk and run the coax to the back. The antenna will need to go on the rear some place and that still is the real issue...how do I get a cable from the front to the rear? Jon
  20. Hi, I want to install a ham radio in my '00 Boxster. It is rather large and has a detachable head unit. I can put the head unit in one of the center pedestal spaces but the radio itself will have to go in the trunk. That means I will need to get a fiber optic cable from the trunk to the cabin. I will also need to get a cable from the battery to the radio in the trunk. It draws about 15 amps so I need a decent guage cable for power. I would really appreciate any advice on routing cables from the rear trunk to front trunk to the cabin. Jon
  21. Hi, Can someone tell me where the fittings are to put a set of gauges on the A/C? Thanks, Jon
  22. I'm looking for the best place to put the antenna for the XM radio I am about to install. I popped the cover off the IR sensor between the defroster ducts. It looks like there is plenty of room for the antenna. but I'm not sure how to fish the cable down into the console near the CDR-220. Has anyone done this or perhaps installed a satnav antenna in this location that can help me? If it is relavent the car is an '00 non-S. Any tips would be appreciated. I would also be interested in hearing opinions on this location from a performance standpoint. Thanks... Jon
