  1. I am having the same issue (2006 C2S). No service/repairs/flush done to air con in last 2-3 years.
  2. Each door handle (internal and external) has a micro switch. In your case the internal door handle (and the micro switch) is working fine.
  3. Great point about the aluminum block. I have been using it for a while and notice the fine dust that sticks to the magnet at each oil change.
  4. C2S 997.1 2006, 25K miles. While changing the spark plugs, found out that all 3 left bank coils have cracked. I do not have a working multimeter to check the resistance. Right bank coils are perfect with no signs of crack. May be the previous owner changed the right side coils.
  5. No, its not normal. Somehow it thinks that there is high resistance while going up, but not sure.
  6. Issue fixed!! Replaced the door switch, and now the window drops a little as soon as the inside door handle is pulled. Here is the analysis. The design of the new version of door switch part has been greatly improved. Note the part version 997.616.156.05 A05. This is defferent number than original, but fits perfectly. Details of the improved design New switch assembled to the door trim. Reassembled the door panel in reverse order as per the orginal DIY.
  7. Thanks Paul, the dealer said its the latch 9 out of 10 times, but I still think its the switch/sensor at door handle. Marcus, you are right, I did the disassembly. Here are more details along your line of thought. Here is the picture of door panel. Solid arrow pointing to the plunger, which pushes on the microswitch. (removed from the door) Following picture shows the reverse side, arrow pointing the location of the plunger. Red arrows point at the connector release tab and the tab below to release the module itself, note the part# 997.613.156.03 Following picture with the module out and arrow pointing the plunger location hole. Front of the module with arrow pointing at the plunger. The white microswitch is visible in the right picture Following picture with the module front and back separated by releasing the tabs circled in red. And finally the plunger/lever out and the arrow pointing to the microswitch itself, which is part of the power window switch module. I did not get a chance to check if the microswitch itself in faulty. Next I am going to check with the dealer on ordering this window switch module and test if this resolved the issue. I may have lowered the picture quality too much. Let me know and I can upload better quality pictures.
  8. Thanks mxt_77, I looked at the great DIY from Clifton, but could not figure the microswitch location. What is this (arrow in the picture) for? I thought its the switch/sensor.
  9. Car 2006 C2S Issue - On the passenger side, when I open the door from outside, the window does drop down a little and stays down untill I close the door. But when the door is opened from inside, the window does not drop, and drops only when the door starts to open. Then stays down untill the door is shut, when it goes back up again. Based on this scenario, and searching around here, i believe that the microswitch at the inside door handle is gone bad. I called the local dealer to order the microswitch. The dealer told me that 996 had 3 microswitches, but 997 has the inside switch integrated into the latch. So I have ordered the latch (about $180) Can someone confirm if this is the case. Thanks a lot.
  10. I drive my 997 C2S in Winter when the roads are clear. I use the same set of rims and just get the tires changed to winter tires. Thinking of buying additional set or rims. Wax before the winter, wash regularly, drive with care and have fun all year long. Cheers
  11. Bought my dream car C2S 997-1 a few months back. Did my first oil change last weekend with the 996 diy as guideline. Huge THANX to the writers of the DIY for Placing the car on jack stands and the oil change itself. Had to get the Oil wrench tool from Pelican as I could not find one at the local auto parts store. Someone asked a question about overfill (Thank fully I have the correct fill). Is it possible to just take out the oil filter canister without draining the oil. This way one can take out 1/2 qt each time, just a thought, comments welcome.
