  1. I understand the purpose and am not trying to be disrespectful but an actual owner should be able to go to a dealer and buy a replacement lug key without having to be taken to the cleaners. I just tried calling the dealer back and suggested what PERF did and they said "Absolutely not, there is too much liability". "You have to bring it in and we will replace all lugs and install new ones" One hour of service plus lugs. He quoted me a different price which is now $348. I told him I spoke with a person yesterday for $298. He said I was quoted incorrectly

  2. Need everyones thought on this one. My04 S. Over time my idle rpm starts to drop and pulse when stopped. eventually it will throw a PSM and using Durametric I have P2186 Throttle body sensor. I cleaned the throttle body, cleared the codes and she purrs like a kitten. Slowly day after day she will start to drop rpm coming to stop and start the whole cycle again. it takes 3 to 4 weeks. I have checked throttle body, coils, plugs, fuel rail. I don't know what else to check?

  3. I had a new gremlin pop its head. Airbag fault message on my '04 S. Pulled the code with Durametric and code 1217 came up. Checked Renntech and wouldnt you know it this is a common issue with a TSB 9/04 6963. So I went to work following the TSB and its now gone.

    Steps

    Disconnect Negative battery cable

Discounnect wiring harness connectors to seat (includes airbag yellow connectors)

    Unbolt/remove seatbelt harness

    Unbolt seat and remove

    Turn seat upside down

Follow tsb and find the two wire connector black and blue wires

    Clip wires

Solder blue to blue and Solder Black to black

Shrinkwrap and zip tie back together

Reverse and put seat back in Cayenne

  4. Hello All, my PSM is back on my '04 S. I cleared the codes, disconnected the negative battery cable and PSM comes back after about a day or so. No CEL on only PSM.

    Error codes

P2186 Throttle/Pedal Pos. Sensor/Switch D/E voltage correlation-implausible signal, test conditions are not complete fault is currently active and is not causing a DTC light.

P2174 Throttle/Pedal Pos. Sensor/Switch E circuit-implausible signal, test conditions are not complete fault is currently active and is not causing a DTC light.

    470 CAN

    1314 DME

Some background...the first time this error code came up i checked the enging throttle body, cleaned it and made sure all connections were secure. Additionally i replaced both batteries last summer.

    Now what should I check/replace?

  5. Hello All,

I am still getting the following error on my 2004 Cayenne S. I used my Durametric to pull the code. I have been having some issues lately. I had P0011 Cam shaft sensor go bad and I replaced it. I have cleared the codes and disconnected the negative battery cable over night. If I run the durametric it will show fault cleared with no faults but as soon as I drive it and test it the code shows up. Any help to figure out what to do is greatly appreciated.

470 CAN Comfort in single-wire operation-Open Circuit, test conditions are not-completed, fault is currently active and is not causing a DTC light.

  6. Definitely do not need to remove the exhaust. I jacked up the rear only and had plenty of room. if you have a set of air tools it makes it much easier. if your going to replace the flex disc don't secure the bearing. disassemble the center support and then replace the flex disc. This allows extra room and movement to get the flex disc out and on. The hardest part of the job is razor blading off the rubber.

  7. Just realized...The title is wrong. It should say CARDAN SHAFT INSTALLED VERTEX ESP 2 PIECE SUPPORT. Don't know how or why I put in "used" nothing is used...

    Hey All,

Well my struggles continue. My Cardan shaft bearing failed for the second time on my '04 Cayenne S. The original was replaced around 60K+ and this one failed at 135. Since it wasn't covered under warranty I opted for the Vertex 2 piece Clamp on solution. Once the bearing ring is cut and removed, I used a razor blade and cut off the rubber. With a really good razor blade and mechanics gloves I was surprised how cleanly I was able to get off all of the rubber. Don't get me wrong it took a lot patience and time but it came out really clean. I then pride off the two sealant bearing rings and carefully repacked the bearings. The bearing ring spun smoothly but after watching the Vertex video I decided what the heck I will pack them. You would be surprised how much new grease I was able to pack in there. Pressed the rings back in and started clamping the Vertex Supports in. There is one thing that really pissed me off about the Vertex EPS solution. They did not provide a long allen wrench. I mean really, for $480 throw in an extended length allen wrench. I had to struggle with a normal size one as I didn't have the correct extended one. Now onto the rubber flex disc. I called vertex and they said if your current one is in good condition you don't need to replace it. Put the supports on, drive and if a vibration is present then put on the flex disc. Well, I just came in for another beer before I button everything up but I think I am going to put on the flex disc while I have the main support bracket off. I will let you know how that goes in a bit.

  8. Okay...here it goes...The last time it went into PSM it cost me over $3500 and that's after I replaced several parts my self (both MAF, Throttle pedal assembly, cleaned throttle body, cam sensor bank 1 replaced) ..Anyways...I made it home and plugged it in and have the following:

    Durametric Codes

P0112 (Intake Air Temp Sensor 1)

    P0343 (Camshaft Position Sensor A bank 1)

    P2186 (Throttle/ Pedal Pos Sensor switch D/E

    P2174 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor /switch E

P1538 Throttle Adjust unit lower mechanical stop relearning implasusible

    P2169 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor switch D

P1535 Throttle adjust unit test aborted

    P0103 MAF

    P0470 CAN

    P1314 DME

    P1320 Air con control module

Cleared codes re-ran durametric the only codes staying are P0112, P0470 and P1320

    Need some thoughts/suggestions...

Anyone in the NorthCarolina area with PIWIS or PST2???
