See Battery in or out below....I have switches on several cars and they work fine..the only thing I have to do is reset the clock. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery in my 993 as per the owners manual for long term storage with no problem except the clock so I don't know why you couldn't use a disconnect...

Anyone had any experience (good or bad) hauling a 993 on a trailer. What I am looking for is info about how to tie it down without damage to the vehicle including alingnment. Photos would be a big help. Thanks in advance for any help...bart

My owners manual on page 117 " Storing...." under " Electric" it sez " The battery should be removed...." soooo... to me, disconnecting the battery should have the same effect... the owners manual on page 131 " Battery " it sez " when the battery is reconnected the engine must be run for ten minutes to allow the control unit to re-aquire data.... during this period the engine may idle unevenly...".... I'll find out this spring...

I just stored my 97 993 C2 and I disconnected the negative battery cable.....since I didn't know what might happen, after a few days, I reconnected it and the car started and ran as usual ???
