  1. All, I opened up the front trunk of my 2000 Boxster the other day and a small rubber 'cap" dropped down from the trunk lid. (pic enclosed). I have looked and cant seem to find a home for it. Its a total mystery. Im pretty sure its nothing too important but would like to know what its for  and where it belongs. If anybody can shed some light on this it would be much appreciated. Thanks Andy
  2. All, I have a 2000 Boxster and over the last year or so my ring finger has steadily chipped away at the paint on the gear stick. (pic enclosed). Is there any solutions to overcome this? (taking my ring off obviously!!) Is there a touch up paint available? Or is it a case of replacing the entire gear stick?? Thanks Andy
  3. djantlive, Many thanks for that. Will wait on the RMS and will look into the tires. Cheers Andy :drive:
  4. I reside in Miami and I have just done my oil change with 0w -40 as per Renntechs Oil Change instructions, its the first Oil Change I have done, I was also advised this by a Mechanic down here and Mobil One has a neat Oil Selection guide on its website. It says 0w- 40 is the oil of choice. http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS...obil1_0W-40.asp However if this changes due to the South Florida weather, please let me know and i will change it up. Is there such a huge difference? Im not all that clued up on this. Thanx
  5. My first post, Sorry to tread over old ground but im new to this and know about as much about engines as i do about Brain Surgery, so im learning fast! Ive been reading alot about the RMS and it seems i have the same problem on my 2000 Boxster. I had it up on the lift today and saw it firsthand. I have been told this costs $$$ to replace as they have to separate the engine etc, to get at it. It seems like its an inherent porsche problem and the posts i have read have been most informative. But I have a couple of questions. 1. Does it need to be done?? its not leaking a lot, it doesn't leave spots on my garage floor, (well i haven't noticed any) Should i just get on with it? 2. If so how much should i expect to pay? 3. I've just moved to Miami from Boston and im going to get rid of my snow tires, what should i go for??? Many Thanks Andy
