  1. Approved oils (on Porsche's list) as of April 2007 include only - Synthetic oils that are: 0W-40 5W-40 5W-50 The Porsche TSB supersedes any manuals statements. Any of the listed oils will work fine. thank you Hello: I am also new to this forum. I live in Seattle Washington and I have a cabinet full of Mobil 1 10w30; ..... would this oil be too thick for my 2001 Porsche Carrera 996 for our average temperatures of 60 degrees in the summer and 45 degrees in the winter? Thanks
