  1. Depends if you have "most" sound system. Do you curreny have Porshe GPS? BOSE System?
  2. On a 2012 987.2 I ran my PIWIS 3 and got the attached screen Anyone know the steering calibration code? Thank you
  3. Battery, alternator, and cables were tested and fine. I'm checking if one of the local Porsche shops I assist have an extra working A/C control module to swap and check
  4. Excuse me if this is elsewhere butbI didn't see it. I am getting a dead battery once a week and the battery, alternator and cables check out ok. I noticed that when I turn the headlights on the a/c will turn on compressor and fan to max and if I turn the fan down it will again climb right back up on its own. Any help guys?
  5. I have a convertible and when I had similar wing problem ( one side not going up) putting the top down and up didn't help orncleae code. PST2 or PIWIS 2 and 3 would clear code. I decided to remove wingandnhydrilic system and send to Cabriolet Hydrolics in Sarasota FL and 1 week and $740 later I got the entire system back looking brand new. Once installed it now works great and has 3 year warranty. Highly recommend Cabriolet Hydrolics for top or wing hydrilic system repair.
  6. New shifter bushings installed. I don't think these will ever break
  7. I was looking for a little extra for this year's Rennsport Dragon Rally. I think the extra power will make-up jn the straights what I lose in the curves to all the guys with all the electronic assists and blind mountain curve driving experience
  8. Will a PIWIS or PST2 reset or remap back if needed or desired?
  9. Just an update. 996/986/996TT gear shift bracket is now Porsche suggested retail $482.00 I had valet crush the front plastic bushing and Porsche still doesn't sell just a bushing and neither does Evo anymore it seems. But I found a reasonable solution as shown in other photo. Phenix makes aluminum replacement bushings for $70/pair. Easy installation and works great. I bet never a crushed bushing again.
  10. Has anyone just flashed their 996TT without other upgrades? What did you feel or actual results and do you think it hurt reliability?
  11. I sent my rear spoilen hydrolic system ( both rams, hydrolic pump and lines) to Cabriolet Hydrolics 10 days ago and today I received the parts back. I'll install tomorrow and edit this and post results. I installed the rebuilt set last week. They charged the shop $740 total to rebuild. Works great and all original factory parts and look. Hey I figure I can have them rebuilt 3 times for cost of the electric rams and this way it looks as it did out the factory
  12. Thank you but I already did that 3 days ago when I received new tire from Tirerack. Still uneven fit. Think I need to find shop with vacuum pump that fits tire valve
  13. I had to use the inflatable spare tire last weekend and now got the replacement tire installed. The problem/question I've removed as much of the air in the spare and replaced the belts around it to shrink it a bit further but the spare still won't fit as it did horizontally on the floor of the "frunk"
  14. 2nd Thursday every month HUGE Porsche meetup.
  15. I bought a LCD replacment screen from Vertex auto and installed it myself.using the online instructions and watching a similar video. It took less than 20 minutes and while the images are a little different now it works better ( when I had directed air-to-air blow down or at passengers I would get small to windshield and it would fog up. Not anymore. ) I've attached before and after photos
  16. I have the Bose Nav double din system. Would it be mostly a remove old unit and install new or aprox what will it entail to install PCCM+?
  17. Keep the car. It looks like the 996 and 996 Turbo values have reached bottom last year and are appreciating at a nice pace. There are a few examples I found this past weekend from $60,000 to $78,000 and one admittedly redicilous example asking $99,000 but thats HUGE compared to 2 years ago when a clean carfax 6 speed could be picked up occasionally for $35,000 to $45,000
  18. Perhaps but SD slot is in back so it's awkward to switch it out. I think better possibility may be similar to audi or Lamborghini maps. I think first thing is to see if it can be copied so one can have archive
  19. I saw that Rennsport is organizing 2 Dragon Tail runs this year. The first is June 4-6th and then again October 22-24th. I am in Miami Beach and was thinking of going and wondering if others from S Fla are going and if you are driving there or sending your car and if been before.... I thought if a few of us are going and either drive together if one has a problem.. or even if enough of us to fill a car carrier we could set exact dates of pickup, delivery and return of our cars plus a better rate of the car carrier... So who's going and https://www.rennsportdragonrally.com/ Edit Quote
  20. I am considering changing out the Bose Nav double din system in my 2004 996TT with the PCCM+ system. What I find anoying is that the PCCM+ system does NAV but its an additional $150 for the SD card.. Does anyone gotten the SD card yet?
  21. I just noticed that you don't mention the 996 Diagnostic Manual. It is actually an electronics manual. Do you have it? Its over 1600 pages. Ive attached the Table of Contents here for "education purposes" 911 Carrera(996) Diagnosis.pdf
  22. Well Yes I recoded the rear camera but now it needs to be calibrated and it needs a couple special tools to work along with the PIWIS 3. It looks like it needs the Spacing laser WE 1369 ( or VAS 6350/2A ) and Target Calibration Unit WE 1368 ( or VAS 6350 ) for another $3900 at Porsche retail suggested pricing.
  23. A friend asked me about replacing and activating a new backup camera in his 2013 991. The car already had a backup camera but it stopped working and he asked me because he knows I have a PIWIS 3. I think I need to access the PCM but does anyone know more specifically how to activate/code a replaced camera? and can it be done with a PIWIS 3 or does it require some other device?
