  1. I just had a new plastic window sewn in by West Coast Customs in Placerville. $100USD. Justin does good work, if you need new plastic drop by his shop on Missouri Flat Rd.
  2. Check your wheel bearings as well. I had what sounds like a similar issue. Diagnosis, bad wheel bearing. Keep the Faith "Z"
  3. The shops you contacted may be referring to the B90-P2 wheel bearing press tool. Obviously for the wheel bearings. It is a good idea to replace the wheel bearings while you are there. Many folks have needed to replace them with as little as 20K miles. I broke down and purchased this pressing tool which was expensive. The alternative was to remove the wheel bearing carriers, while it costs little to have your carriers benched you will need an alignment after it is reassembled. I figured after 2 uses the tooling will pay for itself. As far as the the CVMAN goes I have had good customer service, the units appear to be of good quality and have proven to be reliable so far. There are not many miles on them at this point though. I feel the same way as por986, my car does not sit in the garage so I can go out and look at it, I drive it, a lot and hard. I also maintain it. If the axles turn out to be crap, I have the OEM units on the shelf. Keep the Faith "Z"
  4. I just replaced mine with the DSS units sold on ebay from the CVMAN ($199.) Quality looks to be acceptable and everything went together smoothly. Only time will tell but at least I have the OEM units out and can rebuild them at my leisure. Keep the Faith "Z"
  5. Just finished the job about an hour ago, replaced the CV axles as well. Big job but everything is smooth now! Keep the Faith "Z"
  6. Well, I guess it is Christmas for ME. I broke down and purchased the B90 P2 so there is now one in the Sacramento/Placerville area. Keep the Faith "Z"
  7. Latrobe is just down the road, look forward to meeting up for a drive. Best Regards, "Z"
  8. I am assembling parts for this job and found the Porsche tool to be expensive. Anyone in the Sacramento area have one they would be willing to loan/rent? Or a local shop willing to bench my carriers? Best Regards, "Z"
  9. Oh, sorry. I will probably have to get to it before the next scheduled event but if I haven't: Replace axles Replace wheel bearings (rear) while I am there replace brake pads 2002 Boxster S I have another project but it is from the "Dark Side of the Force" (BMW)
  10. WOW a WOCD. That is very nice. and I am in the area. Keep me posted as I have a project... Best Regards, "Z"
