  1. I have one on order and can't wait to get it installed. For the price of admission it looks like a cheap insurance policy. Sure hope I never use it!
  2. I am a contrubuting member but can't find a manual for the '02 996. I'll keep looking. Thank you!
  3. Can anyone direct me where to download a copy of the Owners Manual for the '02 996? I had one but lost it in a computer crash. Thanks
  4. Mike, Please keep us posted on your progress, I have the same problem. Good luck, John
  5. The karma train doesn't miss many stops.... I hope those guys get what they have coming. Good luck getting things sorted!
  6. I just traded in an '04 Subaru WRX STI for my '02 Targa and the insurance is the same.
  7. Bought mine just before my 50th birthday...
  8. Another +1 on the "Fister" mod. I had a local header mfg do the conversion for me. Sweet Sound!
  9. Thank you, is this "let (your dealer) run PIWIS new car delivery" something only a Porsche Dealer can do?Any shop with a PIWIS tester can run the New Car Delivery program - dealers are require to have PIWIS testers - 3rd party shops that can afford one have one. I had the local dealer run the "new car delivery program" and everything works a advertised. Thanks for all of the help.
  10. I was quoted 330.00 with tax for a key for my '02 Targa which has an extra button for the rear hatch.
  11. I have a customer who builds custom headers and could do the bypass tube install like many of you have done. Can anyone tell me the diameter of the bypass tubes?
  12. Thank you, is this "let (your dealer) run PIWIS new car delivery" something only a Porsche Dealer can do? Any shop with a PIWIS tester can run the New Car Delivery program - dealers are require to have PIWIS testers - 3rd party shops that can afford one have one. Loren, Thanks for the explanation, now that I’ve replaced a faulty brake switch that had the ABS/PSM on the fritz I can’t wait to get this sorted and start enjoying my Targa.

  14. I have an '02 996 Targa and the interior lights do not light when the door opens. I have the interior light switch in the center postiton as well as driver/passenger reading lights in the center position. The lights work with the key in the ignition in either position 1 or when the car is running in position 2. The door lights also come on when the door is opened with the key in P1 or P2. The overhead lights also work when the switches are in the right position with the key in P1 or P2. The lights do not work in any position with the key removed from the ignition. Any ideas where to get started? Thank you, -John Light Switch.pdf
  15. I was quoted 250.00 to get a second key for my newly acquired 996 from one of the local dealers. I'll get one after New Years.
