  2. hi, can't seem to find the search threads button...can someone help?, thanks, kevin
  3. sooo, what is the little screw that the arrow points to in circle #3 ? this is the first i've seen this...is it a bleeder screw? and there is no suchofathing on my pump,,, i see, that is just to remind one to zip tie...here... ANYWAY gotta say THANK YOU , i followed directions and good came of it this time...spoiler is working...too cool,
  4. sooo, what is the little screw that the arrow points to in circle #3 ? this is the first i've seen this...is it a bleeder screw? and there is no suchofathing on my pump,,,
  5. yes, checked for leaks, there was weeping at the bottom of both cylinders, i replaced the copper washers, filled and tightened, but how do you bleed each line by tightening the line and THEN tighten banjo...isn't tightening the line in fact tightening the banjo? , cheers, kevin
  6. hi loren, is it me or does this not make sense to you as well? how do i really bleed any air out of one or both of these cylinders...after filling the cylinder to the top and reinserting the banjo bolt and tightening and catching/blotting the overflow, there is still air? and that side lags behind when raising, pretty severely...what is my next step? many thanks, kevin
  7. hi, can someone tell me if and how i can connect a set of the 997 gt3 sport seats in my tt with, at present, the comfort seats with all the extra amenities, memory, bolsters etc, the 997 seats are basic with just 1 motor for the back angle... i was told they have heaters, but i see no relays, per another post while searching for help on this...i have installed the pass seat and got the motor working...it is great, the drivers seat is the problem with the extras that i will happily live without, please help, thanks, kevin
  8. hi, i can't seem to find a cross reference to the shell product, being in germany seems to present unique challenges for me and my german car...not being fluent in german, i am constantly second guessing myself as to what i am being told and am frustrated at the lack of transparency i feel from the 'locals'...anyway, enough about me,,, what are my options ,or, what are my cars options for trans fluid, can someone give me product #'s for the tip in the tt, i understand it is different from the n/a car's tips, thanks in advance, kk
  9. also, the instructions say to run it thru the gears, 10 seconds in each gear, is that just P,R,D, or do i put it in manual and go thru 1,2,3,4,5 with the tip buttons on the wheel, while the car is off the ground?, thanks, again
  10. hi, i am still wondering is this service the same for the 2002 996TT, is that what is referred to as the tiptronic S? and again, what is the correct fluid for this trans? , thanks, ahead, kk
  11. i don't know if this is where to ask, i put it in the main 996tt forum, but no one has anything to say, maybe here? anyway, i had the door panel off and could see the cable loose on the lower front wheel and could pull back the outer cable sheaf, so i rigged something to put tension on that outer and window now drops the initial 1/2", though it is more like a 1/4", and i am sure this is a temporary fix, my q is can i adjust the play out of the cable with those adjustment screws, or are they for something else?,am i looking at a new regulator?, thanks, kevin
  12. hi, i have been reading about the window cables and replacing the regulator, as of now the cable is stretched and i can't seem to find out if that adjusting screw will take out all the slack...i can pull the outer part of the cable back(where it butts against the bracket that stabilizes it)maybe an inch, and it seems to have happened quite suddenly, though of course it is just that i noticed the window not dropping that 1/4" one day, anyway, can i adjust out all the play or am i headed for a new regulator?, thanks in advance, kevin
  13. are these grilles the ones from mina gallery?, they look great on the maroon tt in the web site, but there seems to be something lost in the translation...
  14. thanks gents, will be taking this on come the weekend...
  15. hi, is there a thread here somewhere on the procedure to remove the 3 front grilles? seems all start with the grills already out and i need to know how and where those secret little clips or tabs that need to be pushed or moved or whatever are, thanks in advance. kk
  16. hi, i just saw a thread about doing the sparkplugs on a 996tt, and seems i am under the misconception that one must drop the engine to change the plugs...am i missing something or can i do the plugs myself with the help of the DIY guuides here, thanks... and am looking forward to many years of this...i won't have the car for another month but want to get a head start, cheers, kk
