  1. Hi, Just looking to get peoples opinions on this car: GT3 Replica based on 996 with genuine parts: 73k miles. Description: This car has had extensive work carried out during the 4 years i have owned it,with no expense spared, the car started out as a 99996 carrera, it has had full 997 body conversion including rear wings, back panel, sills, and front end, this is not a fibre glass conversion it was done using genuine steel parts at a reputable body shop, the car is not wrapped, it was painted in candy white which is the original colour used for the porsche 997 gt3, 1 year ago at a cost of 3500 pounds, in 2007 the car had a claim due to a wiring fault, which was fully repaired before i bought it, you have to appreciate this car for what it is now, not what its worth in glasses guide, as it is quite unique, i have spent a fortune and a lot of time on this car over the period of time i have owned it, always kept it maintained and always garaged, and now its time to let someone else enjoy it, it will not go out of fashion and you will not get bored of driving it, you would have to spend 50k plus on an original white 997 gt3, for a fraction of the price you could own this, spec includes 997 gt3 mirrors, bumpers, rear engine lid and spoiler, gt3 997 carbon fibre seats, uprated and lowered suspension, 20 inch asa wheels unmarked no kerbing, with exellent tyres, sat nav and dvd fitted, aluminium and black interior trim, xenon headlight conversion. What would you value this at too? Any help and advice appreciated.
  2. Hi I just got my car back today after having eibach lowering springs and a custom exhaust fitted. As a result the wheel alignment is slightly out, which I understand with porsches you must get laser alignment after fitting springs? But now after a couple minutes of driving the car i get PSM Failure! I've done a bit of searching around and this is what I understand as being the problem: The steering angle sensor sends data to PSM/ABS system to help it determine when to intervene. The car can be out of alighment enough that the steering angle sensor and the other PSM/ABS sensors are sending conflicting info - so the computer shuts down PSM, hence the PSM light, and it thinks you have a steering angle sensor problem, when, in fact, you are out of tolerance in alignment. An alignment with a steering angle sensor calibration should fix you right up. Just back from my Dealer. You were correct! My alignment had "drifted" and they performed a 4 wheel alignment. In addition, the steering angle sensor was faulty. They replaced and calibrated a new sensor. All appears well as the wheel now points in the same direction as I am going (at least on the Interstate). With fresh snow here in MN, new winter tires, and PSM off ....well....... Please can someone confirm this for me. If I get laser wheel alignment in a couple of weeks, do I then need to get an additional steering angle sensor calibration? If so, do I need to go to porsche or is there anyone else that can do this? I'm hoping once the wheel alignment is perfect it won't think to send the error message... Thanks
