I just looked at the Porsche emblem and sure enough, there is a tiny hole just as you described.  It’s in the black portion of the emblem and I couldn’t see it until I aimed my high powered flashlight on it.  Many thanks!

Just an update - I was able to remove the cap from the outside by using two very tiny jewelers screwdrivers and very carefully prying the cap off until I could fully remove it with my finger. Didn’t scratch the rim at all.  Sorry to have bothered everybody.

On subject rim, is it possible to remove the center cap that has the Porsche logo on it without removing the wheel or does the wheel have to come off the car and the cap removed from the inside by “pushing” it out?  Car is 08C2S.  Thanks 

Have an 08C2S with factory 19” rims - 10 spoke (I think they’re called “sport” but I could be wrong).  Anyway, the outer lip which I believe is polished,  appears to have a factory clear coat and it seems mine might have got nicked by a tiny rock when driving and I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to touch up the clear coat with some clear coat type of paint?

Best USA source for TPM sensors.  Have an 08C2S.  Prefer OEM but would appreciate comments if others have used aftermarket with positive results.

Wondering if anyone has ever ordered a new Porsche with a custom paint request. If yes, my specific question relates to having the unfortunate situation should the car have a minor fender bender and the paint shop matching the special color.  I spoke to a dealer and they said you could not order any extra paint just in case nor would a touch up paint pen be available for a minor rock chip, etc. Do you think I’m being misinformed by the dealer?  If not, seems like a big chance you’re taking by ordering a custom color (in my case, stone gray as found on late 50’s 356 Porsche’s).

What is the average life expectancy for subject sensors and any suggestions for a source?  Mine are approximately 5 years old and still functioning fine.

Considering an exterior color change on my 08C2S. Looking for a very good paint shop in Portland, Oregon (preferred) or Pacific Northwest.

 Belt off produced nothing unusual. In talking to a service shop he said his sometimes squeaks when he initially starts his car up. I noticed it when it was rather cold out but shortly after the car warmed up, all was gone. Think I'll just keep an eye (or ear in this case) out to see if it continues. Thanks for all the feedback.

Have an 08C2S, 45K miles. On start up and at idle, there is a squeaking noise in the engine compartment. Could this possibly be an alternator bearing or water pump going bad? Appreciate insight & thanks in advance!

Have an 08C2S and need a transport carrier to move the car from CA to WA in Dec/Jan. Looking for suggestions on whether I should move it on an open or closed trailer. I do know an open carrier is less expensive but also considering that it is winter time going up to WA. I did contact Reliable Carriers who I've heard good things about but they want over $1600 which I think is rather high. Cannot drive it since I have to drive the wife's car up there at the same time.  Thanks....

Thanks for the replies! After talking to the dealer, I need to do the various version upgrades that were introduced along the way in order to get to the latest version. Since the stock system is rather cumbersome, think I will just continue to use my iPhone for directions until I decide to get the latest aftermarket setup.  Thx again!

Have an 08C2S (completely stock) and was wondering what the easiest way is to update my factory navigation system to current maps. Do not wish to replace the entire system. Is software available online to do this?

Mobil 1 oil and the filter was purchased from Sunset Porsche parts department. I torqued it to factory specs. Maybe I should just clean it off well and keep an eye on it. If still a small drip, maybe I should remove the filter housing and look at the O ring then? Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Have an 08C2S (47K mileage) and changed my oil and filter about 200 miles ago. Noticed a quarter size spot of oil on the garage floor this morning. Drip appears to be coming right off the center of the filter housing. Appreciate diagnostic advice . Thanks in advance.

Racerken - if there is a slim chance your car has a CPO still existing, you can have them replaced at no charge at the dealer. My 08 had an active CPO and that is what I did (the dealer replaced all 4). Also, if you haven't bought them yet, do a search on this site as I found them at about 1/2 the cost you are mentioning. I just don't remember the vendor that was selling them.

Was considering lowering my 08C2S that has PASM & Sport Chrono. I understand that with my setup, it's a little more involved than if I didn't have PASM. I was thinking 10mm might be about right but I also don't want something too stiff. I would appreciate any feedback and since I am in So. California, a suggestion who might do this. I have thought about Wheel Enhancement in LA or 911 Design in Monclair area.

Check out autochic.com who I believe is in your neck of the woods. I have the lightweight poly/cotton which is a custom fit. I also use it outdoors but it is mainly intended for indoor use. Easy to wash and dry at home too. I think I paid about $140. I am now on my second one and love it.
