  1. My '02 996 Carerra has a fast clicking left turn signal now that the weather has turned cold. Also, the rear amber bulb is out. I believe replacing the bulb will cure it. I believe the flasher is under the dash if it needs replacement. I'm sure this is a common problem. Any tips welcome. Thanks.
  2. Any tips on removing the old clips? Ypu can't get to them from the inside, I believe. Thanks. :drive:
  3. Any tips on replacing that spoiler? I guess I have to use the old plastic rivets since the new one came w/o them. Thanks. :drive:
  4. Has anyone ever removed the "gas door" on the fender? I have a '02 C2. It looks like it just pulls off from under the hinge inside. I need to have it repainted and don't want to tie up the whole car. Thanks. ;)
  5. Mine just passed emissions testing and got the CEL again 4 miles later. I think the the whole system is flakey and ridiculous. Disconnect the negative terminal to the battery. If you have a persistent problem, the CEL will come back on in a few days. :cursing:
  6. Thanks, Loren. I plan to have the leak checked out. I also have the CEL light ON. I just replaced the gas cap with a new one. I noticed that the gasket is wider and flatter than the old one. I disconnected the neg- terminal. So, let's see if that was the problem. It will take a few days to see if the CEL comes on again. I also plan on ordering the OBD software and cable. Wouldn't it be nice if the existing computer would provide a little more information? :drive:
  7. It's an '02 Carerra with only 1800 miles. A few drops of oil on the garage floor every morning after it sits all night after driving. The drops are under the right rear. I'm going to have to buy something to get under there and take a look. Any recommendations a good lift for home garage use? Any thoughts on the leak? It's still under warranty. I am driving now on a more regular basis. Thanks. :o

Karl, have you made this change to your GT3? I just didn't know if that was your car in the photo. :drive:
  9. Excellent. What's the connection from the laptop to the car? I'll check it out. Thanks. :clapping:
  10. I know this may have been covered before. But, what can I purchase to get the diagnostic codes from a CEL? I have a laptop. Is there software available? What is the interface? Is the Porsche tool available to the public? I hate being left in the dark. "Drive to workshop" irritates me! :cursing: Thanks.
  11. The aftermarket installation looks great and I am sure it sounds wonderful. I wonder if it causes any problems with OBD, O2 sensor and the like. I guess we are always pushing things and I am not sure if it's worth it. Very tempting, thanks.
  12. Loren, do you know if this applies to the GT3 as well? I know we are not looking at PSE. Is there a dealer install for the bypass exhaust? Thanks.
  13. Thanks, buddy. I'll let you know what we find out....
  14. Just checked with the dealer. He said that there was no recall for the '02, but there was a recall for earlier models.
  15. :o I have never been informed of any recalls! Maybe there's a better seal? Thanks.
  16. :o CEL comes on at 1/2 tank of gas consistently. I haven't had it in the shop, yet. My guess is this is a tank pressurization issue. Any theories? If I keep it above that level, there is no problem. Anybody seen this? It's an '02 Carerra with only 2k miles. :drive:
  17. I asked this question in another forum. It helps to insert two fingers into the boot from the top behind the shift lever and lift from underneath the collar. The rear two clips come up fairly easily. :clapping:
  18. I looked into this and the only thing that stopped me is that you have to drill holes into the existing pedals. I am not too fond of this procedure. :o
  19. :jump: That's an excellent idea. I was thinking the same thing for my SY GT3 due to arrive in a few months. I don't know the answer, but it would seem that the tips are all that need be removed. Let me know where you have the black chrome plating done.
  20. Suncoast has the leather/aluminum (real metal?) shifter and boot. Has anyone done this installation? The GT3 order guide will only let you get the carbon/aluminum setup for $800. :drive: http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/merchant..._Code=POTE996IN
  21. There was a PCA issue of Panorama last Fall which compared the GT3 and Cup cars. They said that the GT3 header was similar to the Turbo but with a larger bore, from what I recall. Yes, the GT3 engine is not the same as the Carerra 996. :drive:
  22. :notworthy: Awesome! Thanks for the picture. I bet it sounds terrific!
  23. Are you happy with the results? How does it sound? I can't seem to get to this link. Do you have photos? :drive:
