  1. Thanks for the feedback. The latch is activated by a solenoid when the lever in the cabin is lifted up. I did try to push down on the lid when the latch was activated.
  2. I changed the oil on my 2012.5 Carrera S yesterday and now the engine lid will not open. I did knock the cable loose while pulling out the intake, but I thought I put the ball end of the cable back into place. The actuator operates but the cable doesnt release the latch. I looked all over the place for an emergency release cable but could not locate one. Is it possible to use a screw driver to release the latch? Suggestions are welcome!
  3. Thanks alot! That explains why I couldnt figure out what kind of tool to use!
  4. I want to replace the air filter on a 2006 Carrera and am having trouble identifying the type of tool necessary to undo the bolt that holds the housing in place (connector in the front that has kind of a deep hole that is difficult to see into). Tried an allen wrench, but didnt work. Suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. Have a 2006 Boxster S that has developed problems with the electrical system. The first problem happened when I had a passenger in the car and the seat back was all the way against the firewall. Caused all kinds of messages to come up and faults to be listed while the passenger was in the seat. Cleared up after the trip when the seat was empty and moved away from the firewall. Next problem happened after the car sat for 5 days while I was out of town. When I went to start the car, it was completely dead. I jumped the battery and it started and recharged, but I had a message that there was a PSM fault and the car should visit the workshop. Took it in and they found a faulty front hood latch/sensor that they thought was the source of the battery drain. Was fine for about a week, then I let the car sit for 3 days. Car started fine and drove it about a mile to the gym. When I tried to lock the car, the remote lock did not work. Didnt think too much about it at the time. When I came out about an hour later, the car battery was completely dead. Subsequently jumped the battery and took it the shop, but they cant find any problems based on the Porsche scan tool. Anybody had a similar problem? Any ideas? Best approach to trouble shoot? mgold
