  1. I'm not sure this is an acceptable question as I'm fully aware this is more of a technical forum. I'm thinking of buying a 2nd hand 987 in the '06 - '08 range. However, I'm wondering, as a rule of thumb, how much the price is expected to go down with the introduction of 981 next March in Geneva? Is the market more or less efficient such that the news is already priced in, or should I expect a better deal if I wait until March? This also applies to 911 (with the intro of 991) as I'm unsure whether to go for a boxster or 911. I've never bought a 2nd hand car before hence the general anxiety about the time of such purchase. Any expert advise in that regard would be much appreciated.
  2. Out of curiosity, how well does your boxster handle Chicago winter? Do you find the snow, slush, salt, etc. non-issue / bothersome / impassable? I live in NYC and am thinking of getting a Boxster but am unsure of practically how many months of a year I can actually drive it around... Thx!
  3. Thank you very much. So based on the 2nd to last paragraph, looks like it is a bargain... interesting, this is not the usual practice of limited editions...
  4. Hi, I'm researching the difference between the base model configuration difference between Cayman S and the Black Edition. The former goes for US$62,100 and the latter, US$67,500. Some basic difference are obvious from porsche website: 1) Engine power - Black is 10hp more, resulting in faster acceleration (0-60), higher top speed and slightly different mpg. 2) Black paint everywhere But what I'm really trying to see is if I were to configure the Cayman S to as similar as the black edition as I can (sans unique options only available to the Black Ed.), how much would it cost? In other words, is that $5,400 justified by the extra gimmicks (assuming color restriction is not a concern), or is there premium built into the Black Ed. (I won't be surprised if that's the case). I am curious because based on this article (http://www.roadandtrack.com/future-cars/first/2012-porsche-cayman-s-black-edition), as if the black edition has thrown in the Design, Convenience and Infortainment packages for free, which costs more than the $5,400 difference. I don't think that article is correct, but I'm not able to figure it out myself. Any help in listing the exact differences and respective cost would be highly appreciated!!
  5. Yes, I have exactly the same experience as you described. The magnitude of the delay/jerk is also not consistent. Sometimes the jerk is very strong so that the entire car shakes, other times it's smoother. But I'll say overall there is a noticeable delay/jerk effect with start/stop on. Anyone thinks this is unusual please speak up?
