  1. I have just bought a used 997-2 Carrera 2S and I am wondering if anyone knows the TSB's W904 and WA24 ? The car also have the W913 which I found in the TSB libary to be the front muffler clamp. The other two I could not find in the TSB library. Regards, Niclas
  2. Ok,I found a rubber gromet which are not used at all just behind the battery, and coming in just above the pedals. I will use this one and seal with some butyl. Concerning the negative connector for the amp, which is the best, to connect it to the negative terminal of the battery or to a earthing point ? Regards, Niclas
  3. Hello ! I am intending to add an amplifier in the booth, but I have issues in figuring out how to pull the (cables 4x signal + 4x speaker + remote on/off) through the firewall of the vehicle. I do not have any amp today in the booth so I cannot "reuse" some cables at all. I found two rubber gromets, on on each side of the battery, but both of these were completely stucked with cables. Are there any else ? regards, Niclas
  4. Someone that have any experience of buying from Park Place ? I am considering to order the PSE from them, currently on sale. Regards, Niclas
  5. Does anyone have pictures on a Graphite Grey interior with a black 3 spoke steering wheel (black or other colour on the airbag). Regards, Niclas
  6. I had mine changed in April, it took almost one day because the turbine inside the waterpump was damaged (pieces of the plastic turbine had fallen of) so the complete system had to be opened and flushed. But I guess that in normal conditions it should be 3-4 hours. // Niclas
  7. I found this on ebay and I am considering to purchase. The price is really much lower than here in Europe. Does anyone have experience about this seller ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...e=STRK:MEWA:VRI I have a friend in NC that I will visit in about a months time and I am thinking to ship to him and then bring it as luggage home. How much weight is the box? Regards, Niclas
  8. 996.111.984.05 and 996.111.985.05 //Niclas
  9. Anyone that have tried to paint the edge of the white part of the rear light in red to have the same design as the 997? Made some photoshopping on my own car, I think it looks great. or anyone that have experience of tinting lamps? is it difficult to get a good result? regards, Niclas
  10. I think you need someone to run the tests on your O2 sensors. I have an appointment with the local Porsche garage on Monday. They will support doing the troubleshooting. Picked up the car this morning. New spark plugs was the solution. The lambda value at the test station was 1.000 when tested later today. By the looks from the plugs it was amazing that the car would work as good as it did, probably they were never changed.....

  12. The CEL light is working. Could it be as easy as a air leak in the exhaust system ?
  13. Was doing the yearly inspection today and failed on the emission testing. I had low (zero) readings on HC and CO but a lambda on 1.29, which is extremely high. The car was ran about for one hour before the test and we test drove 2 times with measuring after both, still high on lambda. The car starts and idles smooth, no check engine light, no soot in the tailpipes, no smoke. Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?
  14. The same seams to happend to me this morning. Took the car out on Sunday for washing and drove it in again after finishing, not driving it warm. Started the car this morning (Wednesday) and it sounded like the tapping from the lifters, but it did not disappear as it usually does after a few seconds. Ran it for about 20-25 seconds and then shut down. Started it again a minute later, and had the same noice. Did not try after that. All oil levels and pressures are OK, and no lights on the dash. Will try tonight to see if the noice disappears after running it a little warm.
  15. Is 996 645 564 00 for the coupe ? any list price for this ?
  16. I am considering to make a general upgrade on my audio system. I currently only have the standard 4 speaker system, i.e. no door speakers, only in dash and in the rear seat, and no amp, so I guess everything will be an improvement. I think to replace the dash and rear seat speakers with 2-komponent speakers from either DLS or MB Quart, I only have to figure out where to place the crossovers. I guess there is no place beneath the speaker. And then I am looking for placing a 4-ch amp in the front trunk compartment, in the small pocket between the front wheel and the front differential (C4), and re-use the std CDR22 for the factory finish. However, I noticed that the Bose system on the 997 had a very nice subwoofer fitted behind the rear seats. Have anyone tried to do something similar on the 996 ? maybee the 997 subwoofer fits ? this looked realy nice.
  17. I noticed that You have the crossovers in the front trunk. Is it difficult to replace the wires for the dash speakers ? or are there enough place to feed two pair of wires ? how do you run the wires from the head unit to the trunk and back ? are there enough room in the standard grommet on the passenger side ? How about the rear speakers, are they two way as well with crossovers ?
  18. How did this turn out ? Did it work ? I am in the process of swapping my std seat on the drivers side for a Sparco seat. I have electric seats with memory, and to avoid having the airbag light coming on I need to re-attach the electrics from the seat, all or is there a separate connector for the buckle ? Regards,
  19. So there are no belt tensioners, or other pyrotechnic stuff on the earlier models (a 1999 996 C4 for instance) in the seats ? I am considering to change the drivers seat for a Sparco seat I had in my previous BMW:s, and that I currenlty resting in the garage. On the BMW:s there were belt tensioners and I needed special subframes that had brackets and fixings for metal wires connected to the release handle for the positioning of the seat. I have not been able to find any subframes for the Porsches.
  20. Does anyone know if there is a aftermarket GT3 Cup bumper, as on the top picture ? I guess/hope less pricy than the Porsche Motorsport item...
