  1. Turns out it was a throttle body sensor. Car is running perfectly again :)
  2. Yes. Car's at the shop hopefully they'll be able to diagnose it tomorrow.
  3. HI, I've searched the archives but haven't been able to find the solution. The PSM/ABS and evntually CEL lights come on after driving anywhere from a few yards to a few miles. I've changed the MAF and checked the brake switch. I read somewhere (can't find the posting again) about PSS9's somehow causing the fault. PSS9's have been on the car for 4 years. Any suggestions? Thanks, Stanley
  4. Yes 997 WB wheels fit NB 996's. I have 19" design sports on my NB C2 Cab and they fit perfectly. In fact I'm running 4mm spacers in the rear and 5mm up front just to get them that much more flush. For the fronts you can run up to 15mm spacers but I chose not to. If someone wanted to use these wheels on a WB 996 (C4S) they would need spacers in the rear. What model wheels are you selling? Cheers, Stan
  5. Wow, as I read through the various replies it made me think about all the mods I've done to '02 c2 cab. Turbo front bumper cover Turbo rear bumper cover (perfectly modded to fit...a mod of a mod!) 997 design sport wheels GHL exhaust cans X50 Tips Aluminum pedals Smart Top Passenger airbag deactivation kit EVO CAI (removed, never liked it) Clear side markers; been told they add 15hp (at the wheel) haven't done the dyno so please don't quote me  My favorite mods are: PSS9's with GT3 sways (front and back). This set-up had the most impact and changed the handling (for the better) immensely. Cheers, Stan
  6. Thanks for all the helpful replies. The msrp is way more reasonable than I would have thought. I'll check with suncoast and see what there discounted price is. Cheers, Stan
  7. Hi Loren, Thanks for the quick reply. Model year is '02. Is this a DIY job? Would you happen to have the part # of the seat cushion? My seats are supple leather with heat (if that makes a difference). Cheers, Stan
  8. The seat cushion on the drivers seat of my 996 seems a little flat. I was thinking about replacing it. Has anyone here attempted this? Cheers, Stan
  9. Look, I asked for advice regarding the TYPE of bulb I needed and asked for nothing else. In fact I even went as far as to say that I had read up on the pros and cons of whiter light. Why you or anyone else feels the need to critique my choice is beyond me??????!!!!!!!!!!!! What's with multiple ! or ? or the dreaded ????!!!!!! I guess you thought t would help to make your point???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Hi Maurice, Thanks again for your help. I'll try taking off the door panel to check if something has come loose. If I need to replace the door lock assembly are the parts the same for cabs and coupes? You litsed 2 part numbers 8N... and 3B... can you tell me what each part is? Regards, Stan
  11. Stan: I agree with Will as to the first possibility. However, the second possibility is more likely to be a bad microswitch. There are three microswitches inside each door. To isolate the likely culprit, with the door open, trip the door latch (on the rear vertical face of the door) with a tool and observe the effect on the 1/2 inch drop and report back. Regards, Maurice. Hi Maurice, I tried your suggestion with the latch when the door is open. The window opened the requisite 1/2" and stayed that way. I guess it's a micro switch? Do you have the part #? Thanks for your help. Regards, Stan
  12. I think you have one of two issues. First the window memory has gone bad. You can push the down button until the window is all the way down and then hold for 10 seconds and then do the same thing in the up position. Second, the regulator may be bad. You can do a search here and find more info. Will Hi Will, Thanks for the memory tip, I'll give that a try. Cheers, Stan
  13. Hi, The drivers side window on my '02 cab has started acting up. When I open the door the window lowers the appropriate amount but instead of staying at the lowered position until the door is closed it immediately pops back up to the full up position. Any ideas why this is happening? Cheers, Stan
  14. Hi, I'm interested in swapping out my stock HID bulbs for 6000k bulbs. Is it D1S bulbs that I'm looking for? Is there anything I should be concerned about when making this change other than the colour of the light as I've already read up on the pros and cons of whiter light. TIA Cheers, Stan Just realized that I wrote bulg instead of bulb in the topic line. Won't let me edit it!
  15. Because you're starting with a pre facelift car, fitting a oe front TT bumper will require new fenders, lights, and a host of other pieces. I've seen aftermarket front TT look bumper covers that are designed to fit 99-01 cars but in my opinion they don't look very good. The rear TT bumper can needs to be slightly modified but it can be made to fit. Other than the bumper cover and grill inserts you'll need to purchase the C4S tail pipe relocation pipes. Have you considered the MK1 aero kit? The more I look at them the more I think they're one of the best looking 996's made. Hope this helps. Cheers, Stan
  16. Used P Zero's last summer, hated them. They were harsh and loud and wore very quickly. PS2's going on this spring. Stan
  17. Yes but it will require some modifictaion. I had to trim the arch near the top to make it fit perfect.
  18. Steve, Congrats, it looks great! I finished mine off last summer, need to take some pics and post them. My shop was too nervous to cut the rear in half so they worked at the arches insted, very little cutting and the end result is perfect. Cheers, Stan
  19. My rear TT bumper is just about ready for installation and I was going to go the euro no bumperette route but have decided that the extra protection that they offer is important. Does anyone know if the old style bumperettes (pre '02) are the same on the turbo and non turbo cars? Thanks, Stan
  20. Ebay is your firend. Everything you're lookijng for can be found there, just be patient and check often. Cheers, Stan PS I was on this morning and found a aero front bumper cover with a small crack going for very small $$$. I think the seller has no idea it's an aero cover.
  21. Hi Steve, Thanks so much for the information and quick reply. I'm almost done accumulating the parts for my car. I'm still looking for MKII flared rockers and can't decide which rear spoiler/wing I like. Please post pics of your completed project and I'll do the same. Cheers, Stan
  22. Steve, Have you finished the rear TT bumper installation? I was hoping you could tell me exactly how much of the middle section you cut out in order for it to line up properly at the wheel arches? Cheers, Stan
  23. Loren, Thanks for the reply. I'm surprised that there is no audible option. I'm going to visit a good aftermarket stereo/alarm place that I know and see what they can suggest. Cheers, Stan
