  1. A friend of mine with a UK spec 2001 TT has an intermittent problem with his rear spoiler. It sometimes refuses to raise at the correct speed.

Its not all the time, just happens on & off....any ideas ? It works when raised with the button on the dash ok

  2. Its the standard Turbo front spoiler, £140 (UK) with PCGB discount, ordered from a local OPC.

They fitted it for free, because they forgot to order it in when I took my car there for fitting. They managed to get one in, but all took longer than expected so I had a bit of a winge & they agreed free fitting......from the sounds of it its a quick job anyway that they probably charge an hours labour for !

  3. Not sure about others, but I found it made just a little difference to the sound higher up the rev range. I don't think it harms the car having it in & in the 6 montsh I had it in I never had any problems - car felt fine.

The reason I removed it was that while it didn't seem to harm the car, because of the minimal sound difference I thought I would remove it just in case.

Had the sound been transformed, it would have stayed in.

  4. Hiya

I have a spare cap if you want. I had it in my C2 & it made a bit of a difference in terms of induction noise higher up the rev range, but not a huge amount.

Its so easy to put in / take out that you can do it & if you decide its no different just whip it out again.

Drop me your address & I will drop it in the post to you (if I can find it !)

  5. All

I picked up my 2002 TT 3 weeks ago & its fantastic.

Obviously I will service it according to Porsche guidelines at an OPC, but I also want to replace the engine oil oil & filter every 6 months.

In addition I wanted to know how easy it is to check other essential oil levels - such as turbo oil level, & how easy it is to top that up or replace.

    Many thanks

    Ro.

  6. Guys

    Wanted some advice please.

I am in the UK & have a 2.5 year old C4S Coupe.

Recenlty diagnosed as having RMS failure & is going in next week to be sorted.

As the car is less than 3 years old & has a full Porsche service history,my dealer has put through a good-will claim & they expect Porsche to pay "probably half the labour costs"

In your opinions is this fair or should I be asking for full contribution.

Cost of job is £706, of which majority is labour.

Any advice on what I should be pushing for appreciated.

  7. Funnily enough I am in the same position - just about to get a sports exhaust for my C4S & wondering what to do with the "old" one.

I am just going to fit the back boxes so when I sell the car I will probably put the original boxes back on - very easy swap back.

Then sell the sports exhaust as a second hand unit - used sports exhaust are like hens teeth & I would imagine I will re-coup most of my outlay.

It means I wont have the switch to quieten it down but I live in the middle of nowhere so not an issue.

  8. Hi

I just got my car back from having some minor accident repairs & now when I lock the car the horn sounds briefly. I know that you press the key fob button twice quickly when locking to turn off the ultrasonics (I think) & you get this sound then, but you shouldn't get that sound when pressing once ? All doors, bonnet etc are closed.

Any ideas ? It didn't do this before.

    Ro.
