  1. I am sure there is a post on this, but it might be under the 997 section. From the post, I don't think it is complicated.
  2. Since the new GT3 DFI engine is now out ... perhaps people will revise their thoughts on the benefits of direct injection. This is a mini turbo engine with Direct Injection. I would expect no difference in Porsche DFI engine.
  3. Your car is Direct Injection, therefore no fuel goes past the valves. Due to the gas recirculation from the crankcase oil particles will be present. These build up in the form of carbon/oil on the inlet valves ... hence the blue smoke. HTH
  4. I thought the plugs are changed at higher mileage, therefore all cars would have the problem he is suggesting .. To me a bizzare comment ..
  5. Oh dear ... this is the strobe effect of the camera shutter speed ... YOU can't see this. ...SO NO fault
  6. Has anybody decoked a DFI 997.2 engine yet ? I wonder if it suffers as bad as an Audi FSI engine. Maybe the oil seperation is bettter on the Porsche.
  7. Based on all the prior IMS/RMS bore scoring/ poor cooling of cyl 5 & 6, etc etc issues are these ALL now fixed in the 991? The only item that I could possibly see as an issue is the carbon build up due to the direct injection, so a 50k miles decoke... Thanks
  8. Are you sure with the 'well warmed up' comment.. Try and video it and post up on youtube, then people will see what you are describing So 100% nothing to do with the balance of your wheels sending a harmonic??
  9. This is far better, all you need to know about the new 991
