  1. Help needed with code CDR220 Serial No. X50 18809 48/98
  2. 2001 996 c2 cabriolet. Bought it not knowing about this issue and thought it was me when very rarely 2nd gear would pop out. Didnt really think about it back then. That was about 10k ago and now happens much more frequently. Just learned about Gbox bandaid through this site and had installed with no change. My mechanic--independent german master, very solid and relatively inexpensive compared to most-- says there is likely internal damage that will require a rebuild. Suggestions?? Should I buy used from ebay or salvage yard? have it rebuilt by my guy?--he would need to figure out price depending on teardown but if bad synchro he says about 2500; or send it out to a place like gbox? I know not to work with meister motors. Any other suggestions are welcome. Also, any idea on what is best in terms of overall cost and peace of mind?? It is a 2001 after all and I just put in a new clutch about 6 months ago. Thanks kindly!
  3. thanks for the advice. I forgot to mention that I am in Georgia, which recognizes diminished value.
  4. 2001 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Black, 6 sp 71000miles Excellent condition Recently, I was in a car accident--rear ended and pushed into car in front of me-front and rear damage generally limited to the bumper covers and everything underneath, Minor engine damage-knocked out a few sensors that caused CEL to come on. Rollover bars deployed necessitating a brand new convertible top since you cannot simply replace the window. No airbag deployment. At any rate, the other driver was 100% at fault. Repairs were a little over $15K. I asked for diminished value and was told no because there was no structural damage. According to insurance company, structural damage means frame damage. This to me is crazy since the repairs totaled about half of what the car was worth pre-accident. So, I am thinking of filing a claim in small claims and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. also, would be interested in hearing from anyone in the know as to what they think would be a reasonable diminsihed value claim based on the above. By the way, I had bought the car about a month earlier and like most people would not have bought this car if a major wreck showed up on CARFAX. So, I think there is significant diminshed value. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
