  1. Ask them if they can look up the Campaign number - it likely starts with W or A. i looked hard enough and i found the paper work. they perfomed w731 campaign. deactivating speed steering of engine compartment blower. they just removed a fuse, not sure which one. what does this do. I would like to put the fuse back.
  2. loren what do you mean by garage. i cleared it , and it keeps comming back. I am wondering if it has something to do with a campaing the dealer performed a while ago, he removed a fuse from the fuse panel, that was the campaign , he didnt tell me what it was. something about fan. cant find the paper work for campaign number.
  3. yes you are correct , that the cluster supports it, but my quiestion is if my 2005 c2 equipped with the wiring to connect the tpms control unit /? that would be sweet if it does thanks in advance
  4. loren i have a 2005, and i am wondering if this tpms can be retrofited in 2005. I know tpms wasnt available in 2005, but the dealer replaced my cluster, 2008 part # and it has tpms display but the dealer had to turn it off since i dont have a tpms tanks Ronnie
  5. can any body tell me what this means , it sounds german. i am getting this from my durametrics under veh elictrical. moduleType = VehElec9x7 DTC Count = 1 Fault Number:49488 Description:Meldung timeout Motor Repair Infomation:Steuergeraet thanks ronnie
  6. so after about a year i have upgraded the euro suspension on my car in my garage. i assembled the whole unit instead of reusing some of the parts that are common between stick and 20 mm. it was a easier swap , and I have the stock suspension left over including the swaybars , bushings etc. so far its looking good, i have to get it aligned. it is understeering more then before, i am wondering if that is normal without alignment. Heejin did you figyre out the parts , and did you order them just curious.
  7. that explains why i feel like i am loosing power or just my imagination . i checked the pet diagram but i cannot see a relay but a vaccum unit. well i found what the problem was. the cable to vacuum/solenoid valve was not even pluggged in, not sure if i did not plug it back in when i did the airbox last year or did it just come loose, it is missing the metal clip on the connector, so it will probably come loose . i will have to some figure out how i can even get the part, it looks like a c metal wire that snaps over the plastic connector. any suggestions loren thanks agian loren ronnie
  8. my mistake . i meant x51 airbox, the intake is the standard carrera
  9. that explains why i feel like i am loosing power or just my imagination . i checked the pet diagram but i cannot see a relay but a vaccum unit.
  10. thanks loren , pardon my ignorance, but the tunning flap is that the throttle body flap we are talking about.?/
  11. I was playing around my durametrics disgmostic software, and i noticed the above error. it does not go away. I have added a plenum , and a x51 intake/headers. I know all my connections are tight . not sure what this means. can any body shed some light or is this the plenum and air box doing this. thanks
  12. thanks rfm and all for your prompt response. i do have a lift and i am waiting for my buddy to give me a hand. I might just drop the whole subframe, this way i dont have to undo the lower ball joint, as i have to drop the carrier with the struts, as I am replacing the struts as well. thanks Ronnie Ronnie Which sway bar are you installing might I ask? John well I got the whole subframe with the carier and strusts out. tommorrow replace the stuts. I am replacing the whole porsche sport suspension from germany . so its a porsce sway bar from the sport option.

  14. I am replacing my standard suspension with 20 mm sport suspension. I dont see any way to remove the front sway bar (impossible) without dropping the whole suspension frame member. This look like it will work , but I dont feel like taking the whole front end out for replacing the sway bar. I am stuck. any advise ?? Loren ? thanks Ronnie
  15. elrover, I just did this about three weeks ago. The only tip I can add is I used four wood - wood clamps on the lines in the wheel wells (2 per side) to stop all of the Anti Freeze from coming out. This didn't damage the hoses. Filled the system back up before starting the car and had zero problems. PM me if you have any questions. dndodd so did you have to drain all the anitfreeze , or this clamping of the hose prevented this
  16. well i finished my install , of the x51 intake and the headers. the alternator removal was a pain, it just would not come out, but once again the forum helped me out, the bushing on the alternator gets rusted, so it wont budge, but few bang with the hammer on the bolt it loosened up the bushing an the alternator came righ out. oil filler pipe swap was a breeze. just be patient. impresse witht the results, car now has a better throttle respones, and slightly quicker. next is the 20 mm euro sports supsension. I have assembled all the suspension outside the car, just have to swap it now. it was a bit nerve racking , but i practice in the middle of the cut with a dremel and high speed tungsten carbide bit (then it was no doing back :)) , it took a while to rough cut then i had grind it so i can fit the deck seal. then i hand prime it, and touch paint for rust protection. if you have a will you one can do it, How difficult is it to accurately cut the hole in the hood?
  17. Actually Coryey I think they only change the plenum on the X51 cars as the intake manifolds have a different opening to them and it is to accomodate this. The plenum is changed but just for that purpose, it is still the basic design as the non X51 part. If the RSS plenum works it would probably work even better with the x51 with the intake, throttle body and not to mention the cleaned up heads the X51 has along with the better exhaust manifolds. Dave I don't think it's a plastic part like the non powerkit models, atleast on the 996 it's not. my feed back: i was goig to post a seprate post on my mods, but here it is. i first installed the rss plenum , and saw an immediate response in throttle and it pulls harder at speeds. when i rev the engine i do here a squish sound of the intake ??? anybody experience that. after that i installed the x51 carbon fibre air box, x51 headers, and modified the regular mufflers mk ii mod, and vow i even saw more difference then before, the car pulls harder now and take off is a lot easier and faster :) and exhaust sound is little louder and deeper, thats what i was looking for (200 $). next is euro sport suspension, i am assembling the suspension kit in my basement (winter project) cheers Ronnie

  19. one can download the chasis section work shop manual which includes the suspension from porsched tech web site. it cost me 117 $ just for that section
  20. I am not clear, if the x51 throttle body(which is larger then the stock one) does fit the non x51 intake (which is smaller then the x51 intake manifold, then how does the inside diameteres match up x51 ID verses the non z51 intake manifold ID , ?/ or are they the same. Ronnie Sorry Ronnie didn't see this..you have to remember that the throttle body doesn't connect to the intake manifold directly. It connects to a plastic intake distribution tube commonly called the "plenum", this is the part that RSS has done through the aftermarket. As far as the X51 throttle body ID vs. this part, well this is the million $ question. Whats nice about the factory piece being plastic you can probably grind it down to gasket match this and you could probalby do it with the RSS aluminum part as well. I was told by RSS that the X51 TB does fit. Haven't seen this myself though...(my disclaimer :D) Dave thanks dave , i really meant the plenul, the irony is i already fitted the rss plenum in the car. I also have the airbox , filler tube, sitting in my house. I was thinking about just getting a silicone transition tube from the throttle body to air inlet hose. i am not sure how much the throttle body is . have you ordered your stuff yet ronnie Hey Ronnie, not yet. Do you have the template for cutting the lower deck for the 2nd airtube?? I saw your post regarding the oil filler tube and the alternator. I will see if I can find out how to do this. I am leaving to Japan for a few weeks, and I will probably order it when I get back. Dave ya the dealer shipped it with the aie box, but unfortunately the scale is incorrect. will keep you posted ronnie
  21. thanks loren. but i dont have it. would you happen to have it , i know you own a 996 :) ronnie
  22. does any body have instructions on the removal off the alternator and installation of it. I am trying to install the new oil filler tube for the x51. thanks in advance ronnie
