  1. skl - do you know what the version number is for the software and/or CD's?
  2. Does anyone have a pin-out chart for the wiring harness connector on a 2004 996 with the P15 Power Seat Package with heat? Thanx. P.S. I'm talking about the connector that you plug the cable from the seat into...
  3. Gee, 2 problems in one day..hope this is not a trend. I have a loud whistle/whine noise coming from the front end of my car (as far as I can tell, it is the front, it's hard to determine). The noise is loud enough to hear over the normal engine/exhaust sound. It does not seem to be related to engine speed or braking. The noise appears at around 20mph and remains constant. When decelerating, the noise stops abruptly once I'm back down to 15-20 mph. I thought it might be related to my trunk lid problem (see other post) but this is not the cause. Anyone have a guess? (radiator, coolant line?) Thanks.
  4. My trunk lid has suddenly started to open when I use the remote to unlock the car door. The trunk lid opens as normal with the trunk release remote button but it is also opening when I press on the door release button. I also noticed today that the trunk popped open as I came to a stop in my driveway, put the car in first gear and pulled up on the emergency brake, I had not touched the key. Strange... The 'trunk lid open' indicator never comes on in the dash. I tried disconnecting the battery but the same issue returned. Anyone have any suggestions or magic reset sequences? Thanks.
  5. I did see that TSB. The PCM2 unit keeps the correct time (hh:mm), but just during the 12:00 noon hour, it displays "am" instead of "pm". I didn't see a TSB on that particular issue, but I'll be going back to the dealer to see if thay have a solution. Thanks.
  6. I just had a new PCM2 unit installed in my 2004 996 and I have 2 questions. Is the only way to turn on navigation without the radio playing by selecting 'mute' in the audio section? (In other words, can I get in the car, turn and turn on navigation without turning on the radio?) Also, I noticed that from 12:00PM - 12:59PM, the display shows "am" and then changes to "pm" at 1:00PM. Is this a bug? Is there a fix? Thanks!
  7. Thanks Toolpants. My dealer did program the VIN into the cluster, he just couldn't change the mileage. If you have any leads/contacts on some aftermarket method of making this change, I'd appreciate it.
  8. I bought a new instrument cluster for my 911 Coupe and installed it myself. I made the first available appointment with my dealer to have the cluster reprogrammed with the VIN and transfer the mileage from my previous cluster. However, after trying the programming, the dealer told me they couldn't put the mileage in because it had already been coded. The dealer said apparently that after the first 100 miles on the odometer, you cannot change the mileage (I had 200 miles on the odometer). Seems the dealer was not aware of this and I wasn't aware either. Does anyone know if it's now possible to change the mileage in this situation?
