  1. I know it's out of your hood but New life upholstery on venice blvd @ La cienga in west LA.
  2. Mine was doing that when I first bought it. It was time for a new top anyways and I figured whomever I have put the new top on, could make some adjustments so that wouldn't happen anymore. Four shops later its finally fixed. It's really hard to find someone with the skill to properly adjust these tops. If your near LA I can give you a refferal.
  3. I see the metal bracket on for the clip that's closer toward the hood of the car that's at about the same level as the one I'm looking for. It runs over the radiator but stops at that inner clip. I've looked on the outside of the radiator and the front side and haven been able to see anything that it would attach to. Unless it attaches to the bumper cover itself and perhaps it was damaged Before I bought the car...?
  4. Vacuum leak? I haven't had the stalling issue but I have had 2 different cars come in the shop with lean O2 fault codes. they both ended up having broken oil filler tubes. The accordion plastic tube gets brittle and breaks.
  5. Hello, I have a 99 cabriolet and the passenger side front wheel liner is missing the push clip that is in front of the tire towards the bottom of the bumper. This one is the clip closest to the outside of the car. The hole lines up next to the radiator. I can not figure out what this clip should snap into. The clip at the same height but towards the inside snaps to a bracket that's mounted In the center of the radiator. But something on my car is missing. I've looked through the parts illustrations for the wheel liner, radiator and front bumper and I don't see anything that looks like it missing. If someone could pop out a couple clips and check their car it would be great. I can post some pics if it helps.
  6. Mine had the ear broken off that slides to lock the clam shell. I replaced the entire assembly and didn't have the new part in the s,e position as the damaged one. It became a calibration nightmare. I ended up with a good extra motor assembly but just sold it about a week ago. The motor is held on by 2 10mm long shaft bolts. Just unbolt them and it should come right off.
  7. Was hoping someone has disassembled a 996 seat completely down and can give me some info. I have a set of seat frames that I need to ship and would like to separate the seat metal frame (butt part) from the back section. I figured out how to remove the long gear that the motor turns to recline the back but that's as far as I can get. It's too expensive to ship these having them in one solid piece. Any insight would be appreciated.
  8. Is it possible to do the recalibration without a scan tool? I had my top replaced recently and it has not worked properly since. Ive had to replace on of the side base plates that the top arms attach to. I have also replaced the clam shell hinge arms, and my last problem was the same as 987_RDC. My locking hook for the clamshell would not lock and had the same broken part. I scored a complete gear drive for a good price but I can not get the motor to turn the gear. It runs but doesnt engage. I guess it has some sort of postion sensor (the blue plastic gear housing) that keeps it from engaging and breaking unless its in the correct postion.
  9. Can I ask for the same favor? I've got it reassembled and I think its out of adjustment or calibration because the motor runs but doesn't turn the gear drive
  10. I've been dealing with multiple top issues after I took it in to have the material replaced and converted to a glass window. The shop that did the work broke the left arm bracket behind the quarter panel. After I replaced it, I was having a problem with the clamshell going down all the way and noticed the hinge arms were broken so i replaced both. Now I've found that the latch lock is not engaging. After taking apart the gear assembly, the ear that slides into the left cable to open the latch is broken off probably the same as yours. Mine will open if I manually lock the latch but will not close and lock so it doesnt hit micro switch and it keeps the light on. Frisbee, do you have the lock cable slider piece? My right cable has also been previously repair by someone with 10 zip ties. I wouldn't mind changing that as well
