  1. Hi guys, I just had mine updated last week while it was in for regular service. I ordered the discs from Suncoast a couple weeks ago. It is now showing PCM3.0 v2.24. It had not been updated since new (2011) and I had been noticing some roads were missing. They did mention one of the discs took "forever" to finish loading, didn't say which one.
  2. Bumper cover yes, heat shield no. Mine was just hanging in between the two, disconnected. The good news is the bumper cover is very easy to take off and put back on.
  3. Thanks, got the edit. That looks like trouble! Do I need those? They look cool.
  4. Thanks Loren, but on top of the bumper, it has the 3 mesh covered vents near the hood, that is what I was wondering about. I was also wondering about the 3rd radiator cutout too, that may have been my next question :)
  5. I found this photo on the internet... it appears to be a GT3 Mk.I front bumper, except with the newer vents on the top. Is there a factory part # for this version, or is it aftermarket (or beyond) ? Thanks! http://img.zatzy.com/photopost/data/618/18...996_GT3_gr_.jpg
  6. I gently pryed mine off, it eventually just popped, no damage. You can stick it back on later if you want.
  7. Are the fans ever supposed to stay on for a certain amount of time after you shut the car off?
  8. Night and day difference, honestly. And I am still on my stock 17"s. Certainly this is not the hot race setup, but it does feel that Bilstein Sport and H&R work together very nicely for street and some DE. If you are looking to tighten it down without going too wild, this is a real good option.
  9. Holy smokes! The connector is unplugged, and fell down between the bumper cover and the heat shield, behind the license plate area. I think I might be taking off the bumper cover, what do you think? I don't have tools or hands small enough to get in there, retrieve it, and plug it back in. * 1 hour later, all fixed. Thanks Loren. Here are a couple photos for reference in case someone else has this problem.
  10. Hey guys, I just replaced the 2 license plate light lenses and bulbs. I had noticed while under the car last week that both were cracked where the screws go in, a result of someone overtightening them. Both bulbs were burned out also. So today, when I popped the new ones in, which I was thinking was maybe the easiest thing I have ever done, they don't work! Grrr. What is going on here? Thanks.
  11. Piece of cake, I didn't find any need to drill and I just loosened the center console, and lifted it up to squeeze in the new piece. You will be amazed how much more room your right leg will have. Take a look at these photos before you do it: http://gallery.rennlist.com/gallery/albuq44
  12. I got away with some tint on the front 2 in my M3 for about 4 years, but finally got nabbed. Fix-it ticket, so I just had to get it removed and the CHP signed off on it. I don't really want to give them more excuses to pull me over, so I just the back 3 on the 996 and that was that.
  13. In CA, you can only tint the back 3 anyway, so might as well go super dark on those. Mine was around $175 for the back three.
  14. That's funny, I installed H&Rs Friday also!.. but with Bilstein Sports and H&R sways. I have only had time to drive it a couple times, but wow, it is very precise... all the factory slop is gone. For street and some track weekends, I think it is going to be good stuff.
  15. I heard this leak was pretty common, and sure enough mine was weeping a bit also. I just tightened it up, and it seems to have stopped. Not sure if yours is worse off but you might try that first also.
  16. Attached is a bad photo of my car after I put only the side skirts (I) on. It helps a lot, the car looks a little thin in the middle without them. The thing I noticed after that was how short (height) the front bumper is compared to the aerokit front bumpers (I & II). I plan to do the whole kit as the mod budget allows. Install was pretty easy, I used 3M double sided adhesive tape on the top and the supplied hardware for the bottom which is a really cool set of snap on brackets that hold the torx bolts. There is a little fidgeting around to get the brackets to line up with the holes in the skirt, but there is no real "gotcha" on this project. The tape will grab better in warm weather, I put mine on in February and even here in socal, ended up using a hair dryer to heat it up. The tape is 3M #06383, I read somewhere that people had used this with good results to re-attach the top edge of the skirts that had come loose on factory installed kits.
  17. The switch is for the retractable rear wing, which you do not have. Tail lights are BA15D P21/5W.
  18. I think mine works pretty well, after a number of sanity checks of both OBC and dipstick. I definitely pay attention to the OBC, but every 2-3 weeks check the stick. Heard you have a bit of a gator problem down there :help:
