  1. 2007 boxster s M97-21 engine. Paperwork that came with the car says that it has a 25F9 engine. Can anyone tell me what this designates?
  2. The dealer should be able to find out exactly what was done to the vehicle. Although Porsche is a great car they are very expensive to repair. If at all possible I would look for a certified pre owned Porsche. The added purchase cost for this is well worth it. The 986 Boxster has had some serious engine IMS failure issues. There are different opinions on what percentage of engines have failed but it is agreed that engine replacement is somewhere around $15,000. Good luck.
  3. Porsche has come out with sport mode retrofitting software for those of us that have a boxster without the chrono package. I am thinkiing seriously of buying it at a cost of $1150 but want to be certain that I will see a performance increase in the Boxster. I have a 2007 Boxster S with a 6 speed manual transmission. I have heard that the real performance comes if you have the tiptronic and PDK and that there is only increased throttle response gained if you have a manual transmission. For those of you that have factory chrono with a manual transmission can you please provide your input on whether there is in fact a noticable difference in the sport mode. Thanks.
  4. I have a 2007 Boxster S. Where can I find out whether it is a 987-1 or 987-2? Thanks
