  1. Reminder: I am using the factory seat belt and the seat belt cable is plugged into the main receptacle as shown in the picture Below is what I found in other article: I assume there's at least three wires going to the receptacle - power, continuity that the receptacle is plugged in, and continuity when the seat belt is plugged into the receptacle. People suggest to place a 100 ohm resister on the receptacle if you want to by pass the factory seat belt cable, but in my case I do have the factory cable plug into the receptacle. Out of the 3 cable listed above, I am missing 2 cables (the power and the continuity that the receptacle is plugged in) In my case by placing a resister in the receptacle, will it solve my problem? thanks
  2. I just do some research on the ohm resister, and I believe what you suggest me to do is to add a resister onto both main connector to close the open circuit (the root cause of the airbag light) Do you have any idea where should I plug the resister on the main connector (the cable that came underneath the seat), do anyone done this before and have pics to show thanks a lot
  3. thansk for your reponse How can I fool the system with a resister, I have no idea at all, can you please explain a bit more in detail so that I can do more research on it thanks
  4. are you saying that the airbag light can be fixed even I have a set of after market seats based on the previous posting, other people says that there is no way to get rid of the light if I have only the factory seat belt cable plug into the main connector as shown in the above picture If I keep the existing setting (keep the GT3 seats and the factory seat belt and connected as the above picture), is that true that there is no way to get rid of the light? I just don't want to spend the time and money to work on mission impossible task. I have the dealer reset the light for me one time but it came back on the next day
  5. I just want to know it is by design after I switched to after market GT3 seats, my airbag light will always turn on? I attached a picture of the connector, notice that only the seat belt cable is attached to the main switch thanks
  6. I also came across with another article: Reading through the install guide, once the original seats are removed its neccessary to visit a dealer to have the seat belt and airbag sensors disabled, but are you then left with the dash warning lights always on and doesnt this get on your nerves? Is that true that there is no way that I can get rid of the airbag warning light?
  7. Here is more information My replacement seats has no cable came with them (no electric parts), it is just a manual control seats. I realize that on the factory seats, they came with a number of connectors that go into the main connector (which came from the cable attached to the bottom of the car) after I switched the seats, the only cable that connected to the main connectors is the seat belt cables. On the driver side, the seat belt cable connector is blue color with 4 pins, it is connected to the far end of the main connector On the passenger side, the seat belt cable connector is green color with 2 bins, it is also connected to the far end of the main connector I just learn from other article mentioning: The 997 connector comes apart into 3 blocks. One provides the power, one control the airbag and the last is the seat belt lock connection Even though my car is not a 997, am I missing the airbag control cable in my case or it does not apply to me? Thanks
  8. how can I verify I connect the seat belt cable correctly to the cable underneath the seats Do anyone has the Porsche manual on how the seat belt connector plug into the main connector underneath the seats? thanks
  9. My air bag light went off after replacing the factory seats with GT3 seats, Do anyone have the wiring diagram for the seat belt connector. I believe the seat belt connector came is either blue or green and I want to verify I connected them correctly. thanks
  10. Great advice I will do the cleaning and then see what happen I don't have the engine light on, but I still consider to replace the MAF if the cleaning doesn't work BTW do I have to do anything after swapping the new MAF? I had a 2000 Boxster S with about 90 000 km. on. It never showed any error codes, but it did have a slight hesitation at about 3,500 revs and again at about 5,500. I cleaned the MAF (and the throttle, etc.) a few times using the correct cleaner but it never fixed the problem. Fitted a new MAF and it worked like magic. Easy job, using instructions on the forums somewhere. The only thing you have to do after installation, is to switch on for one minute without touching the accelerator, switch off again for 10 seconds before starting. After that it takes a bit of normal (not aggressive) driving, for a few minutes for the system to calibrate itself. Worth every cent.
  11. I need to replace the MAF myself, I read a number of articles on this forum about replacing MAF, but I want to verify the process I took my car to Porsche certified center to examine my car ide problem, when it is in ide state, it is kind of shaking 9very minor at this stage) The technician told me that I need to replace th MAF and do some cleanup task i will check all the losen air hoses and cleaup the air filter first, if the problem is not resolved then I would like to replace the MAF myself If I purchase the same part number MAF from eBay, can I just swap the old one with the new one? Do I need to do any programming or post-installation task? Please advice Thanks
  12. I have my soft top on for a number of days, and I never have any issue on open and close the top on my car. Today when I try to open the top, it just don't works When I drop the lever on top of the windshield with hand brake on and door closed, both windows drop couple of inches and I verrify the hand brake light in ON When I press the open top button, I can hear a short motor noise and that is it, nothing happen I checked the B6 fuse, it is good currently the soft top is closed normally do I have to open it up manually to investigate the problem? any idea? thanks
  13. I need to storage the car for winter, I would like to jack the car up and put four stands under it (so that I don't have flat spot on the tires), when I look at the bottom of the car, I can't find any other spot to put the stands beside the one that I use to jack up the car. Please let me know after I jack the car up (using the prosche factory recommanded spot), where should I put the stands? Thanks

  17. I am in Canada, my car already has the daytime running light on all the time, I would like to know whether my headlight system can can add a auto mode so that it will automatically turn on when the environment is dark and off when the outside is bright enough, most of the car made after 2006 have this feature enable in their headlight system, I believe it require a sensor around the windsheild area. If anyone have any idea on how to get one instaled, please advice Thanks
  18. you might want to remove the upper center console before removing the lower center console. I find it will be easy to take out the lower center console when you first remove the upper center console, I will attach the instruction on removing the upper center console. I beleive it may take you 30 mins to complete the removal of both console
  19. Replacing the center console isn't too complicated, see attachment

I purchased the 4 stalks control unit and I also purchase a cluster that came with OBC function (when I start my car, the cluster will display outsode temperture and do a serive check on the car.) Here is my question: at the bottom of the 4 stalks control unit, there are two connection, one is for curse control and the other is the OBC. I can't find any connector from my dash board are that connect to the OBC connector from the 4 stalks unit. Can anyone give me some hint what can I do to make it works thanks
