  1. Welcome to the Dynavin club. My GPS antenna from Dynavin works good but not as good as the factory so I am in the process of extending the GPS connection from the seat to the new head unit. The GPS connection is female so you'll need a male connector on o e side of the new extension Fakra cable. If you want to talk further pls PM. By the way, is there oily residue ear the buttons of your Dynavin unit?

  2. Dear Bobo83,

This is what I understand but I hope someone else out there can correct me if I am wrong.

The antenna wire never makes it to the center console as it is finally connected to the DVD player under the passenger seat.  Remember the vehicle communicates via the MOST link so the GPS antenna does not need to be connected to the PCM unit.  The GPS antenna itself is in the rear spoiler.

Which new head unit did you get?  I recently updated mine to a Dynavin N6.

  3. Okay all,

I got my new N6 unit. I had it installed by Newport Auto Sound. The unit looks and feels beautiful. I even installed a reverse camera. Now for the bad news. The unit worked for only 5 minutes. After changing the time the side buttons and knobs no longer work. The touch screen part works fine but all the buttons and knobs are not working. I updated the firmware and Jeff from JandT is aware but I am seeking my Rennlister's advice if they ran into something similar. By the way, I found out that my Cayenne only had a head unit w/o amp. Is that even possible? The guys at Newport Auto Sound were also surprised. Therefore, they did not connect the fiber cable into the new Dynavin just the Most box. For 5 mins the Dynavin looked amazing. I truly think this unit is great but I just need to figure out my issue of the buttons not working.

    Anyone experience this?

  4. Still waiting for the Dynavin unit. Let me ask you about your mic placement. Where is a good place to put it. Previously with my mObridge unit I had it on the A pillar. People always complained that they could not hear me well so I am seeking a new spot. In my BMW GT the mic is embedded in the ceiling and people can't tell that I am using a Bluetooth connection. Of course it's a 2013 model.
