  1. 2002 C4S

I had the brake fluid flushed at a dealer and when i got the car back the brakes on the first application go to the floor and then 2nd pump brakes are firm and normal to feel each time. What is the proper way to bleed the brakes?

From the dealership was hardly no breaking to the freeway entrance and drove 150miles home. Thought at first it was just normal until they pumped up, but is not getting better.

    Thanks

  2. Here are some pics of the finished product. I got the mount from www.blendmount.com and just used the wiring supplied with the Valentine 1. The direct wire they send has the conection for the unit and an accessory port, I used it and it tucked up nicely where the sunroof motor is. The link here by Mike Petonic above was perfect instructions. http://forums.rennli...-996-turbo.html. It is wired into the Sunroof Switch which only has power when the key is on.

This may not be perfect if you use the hidden display (stealth) Valentine One accesory, but I am sure someone has or will figur that out.

Thanks again for everyones help on this.

Hope this help's anyone out with a Valentine-One.

  3. Thanks for the advice. I just put a charger on my car, battery was on the low side. Will see if I get it again in the morning. I let my 16 year old drive and he just called me in a panic when the codes showed up again after he refueled the car. I told him to turn it off and let it cycle then restart and the computer message board was normal.

FYI we have no smog test in southern Utah

Thanks again for a great forum.

  4. When I fired up my 2002 c4s manual this morning and backed out of garage i stopped while waiting for garage door to close and my on board computer flashed Go to WorkShop ABS failure and PMS failure. i turned off the car and restarted and everything back to normal no messages on the computer. Anyone have this happen to them and is this just a 1 time glitch or something else to come?

    Thanks

  5. I have a 2002 C4S manual and was reading the latest issue of Excellence magazine and it was saying the 996 C4S is a good buy today except it mentioned that the waterpump should be changed every 40,000 miles. Can anyone shed some light on this for me, as to this water pump issue? It did have the normal RMS and IMS as potential problems that we all know about, but the water pump issue is something I never heard of before. It says the plastic vanes will sheer off and end up in the cooling system. Should I have a concern. I have 62,000 miles on mine.

    Thanks

  6. This is in regards to a 2002 c4s manual transmission.

I had my shop put on some bilstein supesion and of course the 1st one was a learning curve and the other 3 went perfect. My question when doing the 1st one on the Driver Sides Front they pulled out the halfshaft from the front differential. The question I have does the differential just push back into place or do you have to open up the Differential. That is what they thought. They never told me this happened and when I was setting the shocks and testing on the street I noticed oil leaking brough back to shop and put on lift and noticed the driveline backed out about 1/2 inch and now losing the oil in it. I have stopped the car and will trailer it to a tech, but am just curious how it all works to see if I have ruined anything. The car ran great and all noises normal.

Does anyone happen to have a schematic of the Differential and drivline and hub?

    Thanks

  7. Loren:

On the rear strut removal I found a reply that said to pull out the BOSE air hole things and use a torx to remove the botls and then lift up and then disonnect power or do I just pull up on it like you said? IT has the BOSE system in it.

2nd i am installing the ps10's in my C4s and we are a little confused on removing the front struts. Do you have a more detailed diagram on what to remove before taking out the strut. Since it is 4 wheel drive. I found a reply in this forum, but did not quite understand what it was saying to do. Everything else looks straight forward except what to remove to give the spindle room to get the strut out from under the fender or just a better explanation regarding the drive axle and ball joint etc.

Thanks for a great forum. Also is there another way to contribute other than using pay pal? I am a contributor.
